Nicely done, Kov.

I think a facebook friend did that too. He did FOURTEEN laps. Fucking mentalist.

3 of my club did the solo runs... nutter.

Crazy. I have done a couple of those (Thunder and Endure), but never again - the sleep deprivation is just not for me! That said, in a team of 7/8, if you double up overnight (do two laps each) and not too many of your team have dropped out, you do get a good long break. I loved running at night. But not then getting (what felt like) bugger all chance to sleep.

Course, I say never again. I probably will.

I said that last year.

I got to run at dawn... started in the dark, finished in the light.

Here's a conundrum.. I'd think there's litle chance of her becoming a surgeon now, given the publicity, so sparing gaol is probably good.

I work with morons.

A fellow director that earns about twice as much as I do produced some copy relating to the new Criminal Finances Act 2017 and sent it to marketing to put out to agencies. I have intercepted it, thank fuck.

It includes gems such as

  • "Do remember the house old saying, ‘if it sounds too good to be true it normally is!’
  • and "....could offer the same or similar take home that they were accumbent to when operating via a limited company."
  • and "If any part of your wage is a loan then this is a good sign! "

In case you were wondering;

"Accumbent"; adjective
BOTANY
(of a cotyledon) lying edgeways against the folded radicle in the seed.

Presumably she has a GBH conviction on record even without prison - that's not so easy to forget.

Already handy with a knife too. She just needs to learn the 'stitching people back up' bit now.

It's an 'Unlawful wounding' conviction, but it is possible. Given the mitigating factors and her alleged brilliance, I doubt she'll become a pariah.

Why are BT cockwombles.

I re-signed up for 12 months for Boradband, telephone and TV, back on the 2nd September 2016. My router went faulty 10 days later, so they replaced it, apparently this meant I wanted an 18 month broadband contract, without telling me. I am out of contract with my TV, but not my Boradband. Been trying to resolve this for a month, as my discount has ended, and with will cost me £90 to leave.

Raised a complaint, and will take 13 days to resolve.

Is there anything I can do?

Sounds like she's so keen on becoming a surgeon she started early, but just lacks a little guidance. This is just like a software developer writing a bug-riddled insecure CMS on their own time, and everyone's been there.

My university degree project was basically a storefront CMS, XML driven and written in ASP.

It was pretty terrible.

What is a 'house old' saying? Or does he mean 'household?' Even then, what is a 'household saying?' Why isn't it just 'the old saying?'

To be fair, he doesn't even need to point out that it's a saying. Simply "If it sounds too good to be true, it normally is" would be fine on it's own. Less is more and all that.

It does make him a bit of a moron in itself. More than that though, it's the fact he has no awareness of how awful at this shit he is and so, instead of handing it off to someone who'd make a decent job, he risks embarrassing the organisation and himself by attempting to send it out like that. That's the real moronity right there.

Surely it would have to be a fairly woeful marketing department that just sent that out verbatim. Isn't prettying up what directors send them part of their job?

My dad sucks at spelling and grammar - he still can't spell my wife's name. It doesn't make him a moron, it's just something he's not very good at, like I'm not very good at sewing or wrapping presents. Put the man in front of a broken object and it'll be working again in moments, however.

The lack of care and attention and made up words is just a symptom of an overall moronic outlook (see also current POTUS)

The whole article he vomited up reckons that HMRC have brought in the Criminal Finances Act 2017 to combat people moving over to dodgy payment schemes after changes to IR35 in April which is complete horseshit. He claims the changes are aimed at contractors (complete horseshit) and then proceeds to write paragraphs and paragraphs about how a contractor not paying their tax and NI could result in someone from an agency going to prison. Further horseshit.

Another choice extract;

Quote:
The healthcare sector being one of the biggest effected sectors found more and more contractors were choosing to use non-compliant providers to counter act the changes with agencies hands being forced.

I mean what the fuck does that even mean?

I understand not everyone is as big a grammar pedant as me and as long as the meaning is conveyed then that is probably sufficient for 99% of people. There was no meaning in any of this other than some kind of word salad from someone that doesn't understand the subject they are writing about and speaking to people day in and day out. His saving grace is the people he speaks to on a daily basis are mainly recruitment consultants...

It does make him a bit of a moron in itself.

My dad sucks at spelling and grammar - he still can't spell my wife's name. It doesn't make him a moron, it's just something he's not very good at, like I'm not very good at sewing or wrapping presents. Put the man in front of a broken object and it'll be working again in moments, however.

Quite. A fish is useless when judged as a bird.

I did say a friend thought he was gay, simply going on the fact that she sold him the house and he lives with his brother. But that was years ago.

Now... if I ran the Cubs I’d ensure that the first badge all the cubs earned was the sewing badge and make them all sew their own badges on :D

Do you sew the Grimlet’s badges then, Grim...?
