I've just scandalised a middle aged admin lady by responding to the question " are you looking forward to Christmas?" with an honest "no, not really"

People really shouldn't be asking open questions they actually only want/expect one answer to.

You should have followed up with: "I'm looking forward to CHRIIIIIISSSSTMMAAAAAAASSSSSS."

Your answer should have been.

She got off lightly. If she'd asked me, she'd have received the full rant about the commercialization, the crap on TV, having to put up with family members you'd rather see face down in a ditch, ..... .I could go on, but I need a lie down already.

A few minutes ago the radio announcer said 'And here's some Messiahs for you...' . This has amused me more than a list of events probably should.

I slept in for 3 hours today. My alarm goes off at 5:40am and went off for 45 minutes without me hearing it and I eventually woke up at 8:40am in a blind panic.

I am now confused as fuck and still tired but at least I am pushing gender boundaries by wearing lady deodorant because my stupid push up stick thing snapped in a rush.

Lady deodorant often better as it is commonly odourless.

I'm there every fortnight picking up and dropping off the youngling but it's usually a fleeting visit.

Having said that late afternoon one Sunday for a swift one before returning back is more than feasible?

Every Christmas I end up with a box of Panettone, either through secret santas or the generosity of well-intentioned neighbours. Every Christmas I nibble away at it like a mouse because I don't want to waste food and appreciate others' kindness but would far rather be gnawing on some cardboard.

Panettone is a bit shit. It's like someone took a fruitcake and made it breed with some shitty stale bread.

Or had some teacakes and thought "what if this, but terrible?"

I've enjoyed a nice courgette cake before. Though it's very important that it's not JUST a courgette cake. There needs to be some fun flavouring in there, as the courgette is just bringing the moistness.

If it was simply a courgette-flavoured cake, then that can get in the fucking bin, along with the marrow tart.

My parents always sliced, then boiled, courgettes when we had them for dinner. I thought this was normal.
