Bit grey here today. Down to 18 degrees. Not much risk of snow in NZ at the mo. Nearly needed a jumper earlier though.

This was the end of our road looking down the hill. MrsA has a friend over and they smashed through 4 bottles of wine last night so I have totally amped the kids up about going sledging then left for work.

Just a light dusting in Manchester. The forecast is already wrong as it said we weren’t expecting snow today, but it’s just started to fall. Looks very pretty in the sunshine.

Currently waiting for my boss to pick me up for an all-day meeting in Wolverhampton. Although, ideally waiting for someone to call the meeting off as it seems nuts to travel in this weather.

Happy World Book Day!

My kids went as Winnie from the Demon Dentist and The Highway Rat.

I see THE ASDAS have cashed in on it all now with WBD outfits for lazy parents.

My kids were Harry Potter and Malificent. I haven't seen them yet as I had to leave for work.

Even though we were prepared, I was still in THE ASDAS at 10pm last night because could I fuck find that bastard hogwarts cape anywhere. None left in stock, so he's got a plain grey v-neck instead. Close enough!

For some reason my kid's school are celebrating WBD tomorrow (well, I hope so, otherwise I'll have two really fucking disappointed kids later) but I have a sneaky feeling they'll close the school if the snow forecast is right. If that's the case, the massive blazing row I had with my daughter on Tuesday about her bloody costume will be all the more frustrating. :S :'(

My son was doing this on Friday, and my wife forgot until last night :)

The school set a theme for his class which is Fairy tales, he randomly told us last night that he wanted to be a bear from Goldilocks.

We have a good party shop at the bottom of the road with a bear costume in stock so plan was to buy that today.

However his school was closed today, they also said that even if they open tomorrow all dress up is cancelled so we got away with it!

World book day is a bit random, some peoples kids I know can go in there pyjamas and others can go in Scout or Brownie uniforms.

Just that it was snowy. She still went in dressed as Hermione, she was too excited by her outfit not to.

Similarly, they sent out a text saying it was a Snow Day at 8am on Tuesday. Then followed up at 9.30 saying the school was now open. Mini Fop stayed at home - you can't dangle a snow day in front of a child then whisk it away again. Verging on abuse.

This is the first time my son (4.5) has seen snow! He is off, but I have to be in work today as my CIO is over for a visit :(

You’re just being silly.

Having said that, if you Google ‘inappropriate WBD costumes’ there have been quite a few contentious ones over the years.
