It's pronounced Wat-a over here. You'll have to get used to that first.

The way people here pronounce 'tooth' is all wrong.

The way they pronounce nearly everything is wrong.

I'm keen to hear the answer - is fizzy Bovril good? Is it even possible? It's a real cliffhanger if ever I saw one.

(I'm guessing that no, it's not good)

I remember us getting a Soda Stream in the 1980's. We were quite surprised as my parents were quite strict with us over sweets and sugar.

So of course we went nuts and then I remember the syrup never really getting replaced regularly aside from Christmas. Then after a few years the soda stream was put in the garage.

Reckon my Dad must have liked the idea of the gadget then realised it wasn't a good fit with the household sugar rules!

This clip, from 1:45 to 3:20, sums soda streams up for me. We knew someone who had one when we were kids but never had one ourselves.

I think as a kid the promise in your head is of this unlimited fizzy pop fountain in your house. It was never going to pan out that way.

We had one. I think one of my dad's mates gave it to him. We only ever had one gas bottle though. I think my dad used to use it when he was home brewing to pressurize the big plastic keg things. I think.

True story.

Mr Frosty is the awesomez. It's pretty much the entire reason I had a child.

Edit: does that make it sound like my child's father is a snowman? Maybe.

"Do you like Slush Puppies? / Pop?"
"YES. YES WE DO"
"Would you like to make them in your own home?"
"YES. YES WE WOULD"
"Well you can't. Here is a completely pale imitatiion because why would you be able to replicate something created on an industrial scale with a £20 bit of plastic really?"

Because you'd do it at a tiny scale? You can easily make slush puppies at home if you have the right kit (and some syrup).

Or you can just shake up a bottle of fizzy drink and freeze it.

Lidl had one in for £16.99 with two bottles. Argos, do a gas exchange for £12.99. so will work out £12.99 for 60l of water.

Tempted to get another so have spare glass and 2 more bottles.
