Hello!

An idea has been put forward to the Yes, Chef (Meat and Fire Dpt)!. Basically rather than bringing "enough of X for Y people" you pay £Z and the Yes, Chef (Meat and Fire Dpt)!s buy and cook something on your behalf.

The idea is that rather than a three sets of £5 burgers, we buy a big hunk of brisket, or something.

Thoughts?

I prefer this as an idea.

So long as you don't decide to go for grilled sheep brains.

Acceptable.

Selfishly I'd much prefer this idea as it's more convenient for me; and if the chefs themselves would rather do this it's a double bonus. I'm more than happy to go with their preference either way though.

There will most likely be further questions.

Don't fall for the illusion of choice. Buy the first or last one that she sent you. Which ever is cheaper.

It's worth noting that, somewhat sheepishly, and in a moment that is rarer than hens attending a dentist, MrsA admitted telling me the wrong PIN.

MrsA said "Any saving buying it second hand is a false economy, as you'd buy flowers for Mrs Grim... Pretending to be all nice, and then you and he would disappear to the pub for two days. And fuel costs"

In a fit of consumerism, last-minute desperation and forward-thinking I bought a kettle BBQ from Morrison's this morning. Fifteen quid.

Reckon it'll last even the one grill session it needs to manage tomorrow?

As I paid for it the checkout lady managed to drop her chair from max to minimum height accidentally and loudly exclaimed 'shit!' followed by looking around sheepishly :D

Hah, that happened to me Easter weekend, i phoned one of my suppliers and it went to the automated system, a lady said "welcome to Raleigh" then burst out laughing and said "shit, I fuckin hate this shit!" I told them when i got through next about it and the guy put me on hold to tell the office, could hear them pissing themselves laughing when he put me back on.

Pro hint - there's a plastic tub in the bottom ash catcher that you're supposed to use to scoop charcoal or something. Take it out of the ash catcher before you use it or it'll go melty melty. It being gone midnight it's perhaps too late for that advice.

Not so: After assembly, the whole thing looked a bit odd. I couldn't work out why, though. Thought nothing more of it, until I went to move it. The handles, rather than being at nine and three o'clock, are at seven and one.
