Thank god I didn't have to do anything like that.

It's taken a few hours yesterday and until now to sort the fecking thing out (minus 45 minutes to watch The Walking Dead so I didn't murder anyone). My site never gets any usage anyway so it's all a rather pointless waste of time that I could do without.

On the subject of websites, adamrobertwebdesign.com popped up as a facebook ad. "We produce beautiful, SEO optimised websites". No, no you don't.

I'm pretty sure Storm Doris has ever-so-slightly moved my satellite dish away from the correct angle, or at the very least dislodged one of the cables running down from it. For the past few days I've had no trouble watching in standard definition but high definition broadcasts keep on breaking up. I might get a ladder just to check that the cables are secure, otherwise I might need to decide if watching in HD is more important than calling out an expert.

It could just be atmospherics and will soon pass.

Sky boxes have a signal strength output buried in the settings menu somewhere; check that.

I suppose a correspondingly poorly resourced dark arts operation would have to be conducted outside in the rain with a dearth of the necessary candles, or something.

Yeah, the (Freesat) box says it's getting 85% rather than the usual 100% when tuned to HD services. SD still at 100. Might try a rescan later in the week before investigating further and probably breaking things. Or start investigating cable.

If it's alignment it won't cost much to fix.

I'm not sure why you'd see a split of SD/HD like this. It seems more likely you'd see signal issues on one or more satellites, or on some frequencies and not others. If you're feeling keen you can use this channel list and look for patterns.

If your only experience of Marvel stuff is the films then you're not going to have heard of a lot of their characters for sure, but they've been building a comics universe for decades and you can't instantly dump all that into cinemas without it being an incomprehensible shitshow.

One of the most toe-curlingly poorly-thought through things in current radio is Classic FM's album chart on Sunday night. Hearing the presenter try to make us care that a particular compilation of excerpts has 'risen seven places' or that another compilation with roughly the same tracks has missed the top spot is painful.
