Seems to now.

Only problem is, absolutely everything I did with the theme has been ditched so I've got to (virtually) do the whole fecking customization thing again. I can't be arsed.

Thanks for your kindly assistance mind.

If PHP 7 is the current release then isn't running PHP 5.6 hilariously unsecure? I have no PHP knowledge, I'm honestly just asking.

PHP 5 still gets bugfixes and security updates.

PHP 6 doesn't really exist.

Was it the anonymous functions that made you think that required PHP 7, Grim...? I think they came in with 5.6.

Aye. I've not used them (that I can remember), so I'm not sure which version they work in.

I'm looking into moving our work prod up to 7. What do you use?

England v Italy yesterday. I got home in time to catch the final 15 minutes or so of the first half (starting with that impressive drop goal) and the whole of the second. Would someone up to speed with the game's laws explain the loophole Italy were exploiting that was upsetting England?

I am no Rugby expert, but I think the jist was by failing to engage with the England players, no ruck was formed, so there was no offside line or anything like that, so the Italian players could get behind the ball and disrupt and confuse the English players.

Still 5.6, but only because I've not really had enough time to properly research migration to 7.

:this: basically. It's legal, but it's dodgy. It's been likened to Bodyline in the cricket

It is allowed and in line outs too.

It is hardly used, because as England showed you are not held, so can just pick the ball up and go.

Thanks for those answers. Very much an unexpected tactic, then.

At least once you try something like that you only really get an advantage the first time as in future games the teams should be more prepared to know how to respond. Or just rewrite the laws.

Anyway, about Elliot Daly....

The laws don't need re-writing.

it just showed England's weakness at not adapting to the tactic

Yeah, there was nothing dodgy about what they did, it was just so easy to exploit that no-one has done it for decades, and forgotten how to exploit it. As soon as England went in for half time and were (presumably) told "run through the bloody great big gap it creates" it soon became clear why.

It made for some damned entertaining exchanges with the ref, though.

Yes 'I am not a coach, I am a referee' had be chuckling.

I think once, England realised they would not get pinged for going (took 30 mins), the game changed.

Jesus Christ, can someone help me again with this bloody website.

There's a Big Title section which just has one big bit of text and then two buttons.

When I change the text in the customise option during the live preview and then publish and save everything is fine. Then when I refresh the text goes back to the fucking default as if it hasn't saved at all.

I think this is the bit. Green Button and Red Button.

Quote:
.green-btn, .red-btn {
background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.15);
border: 1px solid #FFDD00 !important;
}

.green-btn:hover, .red-btn:hover {
background: #FFDD00;
border: 1px solid #FFDD00 !important;
color: #303030 !important;
}

.custom-button {
display: inline-block !important;
text-align: center;
text-transform: uppercase;
padding: 13px 35px;
border-radius: 3px;
margin: 10px;
border: medium none;
}
.section-header h2 {
padding-bottom: 0px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}
.section-header h2:after {
content: '';
display: block;
height: 3px;
width: 40px;
background: #FD0;
margin: 8px 0 20px 0;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;

Anyone have any ideas, again? I will wubs you forever.

If the text within the buttons/title is reverting back to the default, the CSS won't be at fault, but the theme itself. Have you tried making the amends in a different browser?

Is that a problem sometimes? I'm doing it in Chrome but Edge is always pestering me to use it, so I'll have a go in that.

It shouldn't be, but it's worth a try.

I've seen some templates asking the user to clear browser caches following an update too in the past.

Is this WordPress? Changing things in the Customise section rarely changes the actual website content, as far as I'm aware - you probably need to find the page/post that's got that title on it and edit it directly.

Assuming you're still using Zerif Lite, is this the place where you're changing it?

(I must remember to remove the template from Under Logic when I'm done :) )

That's the one. You can't change Big Title elsewhere without dipping into the code I don't reckon.

Hmm. It works ok for me. I installed the template, customised the settings as you did, created a new page, set the template for that page to 'Frontpage' and it worked.

I know. It's never been a problem before.

Anyway, I've kinda sorted it now by downloading another child version of the theme which seems to be working instead.

Seriously though, fuck the internet. It's proper shit. Apart from the pictures of sexy ladies.

A Google search threw up someone else having a similar problem and it turned out their host was caching some files at their end and the user had to get that cache refreshed somehow. No idea if that's even at all likely in this case though.

Thank god I didn't have to do anything like that.

It's taken a few hours yesterday and until now to sort the fecking thing out (minus 45 minutes to watch The Walking Dead so I didn't murder anyone). My site never gets any usage anyway so it's all a rather pointless waste of time that I could do without.

Oh, and by the way, it's nice to see you back. :luv:

Doesn't require me to use a certain browser, and it doesn't download megabytes of images or scripts.

Marvel does classic hip-hop covers with comic characters. And some characters I've never heard of. The Spider-Man one is cool though.

Some folks on here like comics though, so here you goes:

I'm pretty sure Storm Doris has ever-so-slightly moved my satellite dish away from the correct angle, or at the very least dislodged one of the cables running down from it. For the past few days I've had no trouble watching in standard definition but high definition broadcasts keep on breaking up. I might get a ladder just to check that the cables are secure, otherwise I might need to decide if watching in HD is more important than calling out an expert.

It could just be atmospherics and will soon pass.

I suppose a correspondingly poorly resourced dark arts operation would have to be conducted outside in the rain with a dearth of the necessary candles, or something.

Yeah, the (Freesat) box says it's getting 85% rather than the usual 100% when tuned to HD services. SD still at 100. Might try a rescan later in the week before investigating further and probably breaking things. Or start investigating cable.
