We have a cleaner, so our place looks vaguely habitable once every few weeks.

One plus side of living alone - the house only has to be clean enough for me, and my standards are pretty low.

It's amazing how much can be done in the half hour before the guests arrive.

Don't you worry about them breaking things? I had a friend who had a cleaner and it didn't last long as she would break all manner of things and not tell him. (One being a football trophy he had from when he was younger). The first he knew was when he'd find various bits in his bin.

Wedding band update!

We did some recording on Sunday to get some tracks together for our promo video. It went very well and I must say, we're lucky with the singer we've found. She's very good!

I have a good feeling about this!

Exciting! Your band name should be:

[Her name] + the Praisebots.

It doesn't matter how much I tidy up anyway. If my parents visit, Mum will spot something I've missed. :)

That reminds me, could you turn up at, like, 11am on Saturday? No specific reason ;)

Some of them are very common, some are quite civilised. It's up to you to find that out when you interview the candidates.

Spat a large quantity of biscuit out then.

Moreso when I realised we get a lot of MaliA selfies so his "chilli finger up the ring" face possibilties are now flashing through my head.

I've grown 3 purple varieties, but two of them have purple leaves, so it's probably the other - which I can't remember the name of now, but was nice enough.

None of them were hot varieties, all down around cayenne level.

I chopped them up and used raw as a garnish, occasionally as an ingredient when cooking, and when I had all the chillies, argh what do I them, they became a sauce/chutney/relish packer.

Just booked myself onto a beginner's indoor climbing course in September. Should be good for building up confidence in finding leg and footholds or doing traverses if I end up scrambling again.

She's bloody wrong though.

Quote:
Asked, in an interview with Guardian columnist Owen Jones, if she would want to change the leader of the Labour party, Phillips said: “I would do anything that I felt was going to make the Labour party win the general election because if I don’t have that attitude then all I’m doing is colluding with the Tories.

“If that means making Jeremy better, I’ll roll my sleeves up. If that’s not going to happen – and I’ve said [this] to him and to his staff to their faces: ‘The day that ... you are hurting us more than you are helping us, I won’t knife you in the back, I’ll knife you in the front.’”

She's wonderful.

So we booked a wedding venue and paid the deposit and booked the registrar and I started my guitar lessons and bought a guitar etc.

We find out today the venue is closing down.

We've a meeting on Monday night with them about it.

We should be fine as we both went through the contract and got some amends done regarding cancellation. They have alternate venues but exclusive use for one of them is £29k versus the £5k for the one we have booked :/

Pretty sure there's no need. If an extra 100 people turn up Saturday it's unlikely they'd leave hungry.
