I have the house to myself tonight, so I'm settling down with a film (Life) and some beers (Corona extra).

Afterwards I may see what effect alcohol has had on my gaming prowess (adverse, probably).

Rock and roll......

I'm watching the Ghost in the Shell film, but not, despite current fashion, live tweeting it.

And we're straight in with the cod philosophy. Still, the film looks great visually, if that isn't a tautology

I had some alcohol free Heineken at Goodwood last weekend and was surprised just how good it tasted. Anything similar I'd had before had been horrible without the redeeming qualities of getting you drunk.

Now that I'm a bit older, drink less, and the 0% stuff tastes better I can see the appeal of something that's pleasant to drink without feeling worse for wear in the morning.

That said I'm enjoying my Corona.

Don't get me wrong, I'd have much rather been getting smashed on something with actual alcohol in it, but I know that one drink and I can't say no, so being a boring alcohol free bastard it is.

The alcohol free Strawberry & Lime Koppaberg are quite nice. I mean, it's just fizzy fruit juice basically, but still nice.

I barbecued in Scotland every day for a week in Scotland a couple of years back. Last week of April too. Sunny and warm from the moment we left Manchester until we were packing on the last evening.

Over the weekend, I got asked to join a wedding band.

I was just thinking the other day "I'm glad I'm not in a wedding band. I would hate to play nothing but other peoples songs" but then they mentioned the money so I'm happy to put my ethics to one side on this one.

There's a TV show called Wedding Band which I enjoyed very much. Their band was called Mother of the Bride. What's your band called?

Well, I'm not really sure yet. The band that the guy who asked me is already part of a band called iParty and I think the deal could be that we have interchangeable members depending on the gig. I think the current lot already do a couple of dates a month but they don't want any more.

Sounds good, but check your exposure on insurance, equipment and making dates. And buy them no equipment.
