Do you just pop in nice cases and wrap for your own collection or are these to sell on?

Sell... what does that word mean?

A tiny vintage Yamaha HS-200 synth because I don’t have enough and shut your face anyways.

Specialist YouTube channels and home working are a terrible combination…

Thankfully I’ve only been buying things that are absolutely necessary and have not been swayed by the allure of extra dials, sliders, lights and oscilloscopes.

A heated gilet!

It's quite toasty, but I'm somewhat disappointed that it doesn't turn my torso into a vision of hell as shown in the picture. 2 stars.

I'm unconvinced this needs to be specified. It has long since slipped into the (literal) world of metaphor, where a British person risks flogging if they don't describe something as 'shiny', even if they are describing a newly painted matt wall.

Fair point.

Many, many packages arrived after black Friday. The most grown up despatched first and arrived last - dumbbells adjustable from 2 through 36kg in lovely compact packaging.

The amount of effort just moving the two boxes around and unpacking is a strong indicator of how broken I am after the first session with a new personal trainer on Monday.

1st synth of the year bought… a 1979 Casio VL-1!
Wanted one for a while and this came up today for the same price they were when released (£39). Still relatively a bargain as due to their cult status they’re can go for over £100.

One of the best mouses ever made. I'd still be using mine if I hadn't needed to move to an ergonomic stand-up thing. Now my kid uses it. A fine family heirloom!

My first Workbench was 3.1 on my A1200 so I never had that trouble, luckily. MagicWB and MUI were no-brainers!

Clock ordered though!

Do they work? Sounds like a good idea. Ironing has always felt like such a waste of existence.

I think you just hang stuff up and squirt steam at it rather than ironing it. I have my doubts about the effectiveness.

It depends on if you just want to release creases, or iron them in.

Noice!

Milwaukee only really started the consumer push after I bought into Makita so I think we have to have playground arguments now.

I do buy Ryobi to fill in the blanks though, hooray for battery adaptors!

Shout out to Einhell too. Best of the second cheapest brands, in my opinion. My electric chainsaw is into it’s third year now :metul:

Post subject:  Re: What have you bought?

We borrowed Helen's dad's einhell shop vac to clean up mortar and so on post-chimney-and-roof work, and it makes an incredible amount of noise for a minimal amount of vacuum.

Luckily I have 85dB ear defenders which fit over my noise cancelling earbuds so one of those problems was solved.

I like Milwaukee. I use these crates on wheels for work and they've been a godsend to transport stuff about. I bought them off a guy who knows a guy who gets them cheap and they cost me £60 rather than the £200+ everyone wants online.

Actually as serious question, if I wanted to get a "Starter kit" is there a particular one people would recommend? Purely hobby / DIY so it doesn't need to be super-tough top-of-the-line shit.

Even the workzone or whatever stuff from Aldi will generally do a job just won't take being hammered day after day by someone using it for work.

I've heard decent things about the Parkside range from Lidl. And there's a fuck ton of stuff that uses the same battery
