Hey guys and gals,

Many thanks from me for a truly wonderful inaugral Beex-Meet. Great to see some new faces and experience something so very special. Happily I managed to avoid a hangover and stayed the right side of drunk too with a continual happy buzz, despite being caught out by the Smirnoff. (Does referencing that mean I have to drink another Smirnoff now? Only I'm in work.)

Special moments...

Skeletor offers live running commentary.

Proudly explaining the rules of X Wing and then being the worst at it ever.

Correctly calling that the motorcycle turns into a boat in Dhoom 3, because of course. Plus sniggering shamelessly at unintentionally-comedic name. Glorious film.

Experiencing VR for the first time with Super... HOT. I was flexing and bending like a true Neo, catching guns flying through the air and throwing daggers at the enemy's shins. Also mis-quipping as my, "Hey, head's up," comment to a closing bad guy I'd turned to intercept with a shotgun was met with a resounding empty-chambered *click*. Trying to step over the ledge into thin air from atop a skyscraper led to confounding and anxious brain-rebellion. Then my foot physically inched around trying to find the ledge to make sure I didn't trip over on the way back!

A very delicious curry. Thanks chefs!

Winning High Noon Saloon. Because, hey, it's nice winning one game. But the highlight was everyone shooting Craster after his misguided 'Fire on everyone with special chandalier swinging move before landing proudly on the floor in the middle of them without a hint of cover' strategy. And the honkey-tonk Western bar piano music we had accompanying our shoot out. And our variably appalling fake 'I do declahre!' accents.

Playing Power Grid for the first time. Great fun, great cut-throat energy company competitors.

Coming second in the Great Beex Quiz. The movie questions helped me dominate, but if it weren't for some mighty fine crossword puzzle filling by the other team members, we would have been left in the dust. Wish I hadn't crossed out 'Silkwood' though on the Meryl Streep question.

Nerf gun battles. Beex through Superior Firepower!

Betrayal at the House on the Hill. Killing off my doppleganger with a freaky body-horror fist-dagger ("Say hello to Queen Dopolopolous, Doppleganger!") and then playing 'pass the crystal ball' with my plucky team of insane super-geniuses, ripped super-strong 13 year old boys and clanking Medieval armour and revolver toting young girls.

Indeed, listening to 'It's a Skull' outside after midnight and treasuring the moment. Also, Gary Finbow revelation.

And several dozen more no doubt. Thanks again folks! And hey, freaky red sun on the way back Monday, huh?

I'm not sure you could've fixed the lack of remote on DVD player 1
or the lack of turning on on DVD player 2
or the lack of remote on DVD player 3

(And yes, we needed a remote to put on the subtitles as none of us understood Hindi)

The Omaha Incident (aftermath pictured, Curio (yellow) blocked MrsA (green)) might have swung the TTR WC to Jacket, who played brilliantly.

Having caught up on a million hours sleep, I now have the energy to post in this thread. :P

Excellent weekend as always, really nice to see everyone and laugh until my face hurt.

Big thanks to Kern and his bears, that has definitely gone on my Christmas list! Thanks also to Curio for organizing and doing the quiz as ever (do we owe you any more money?).

Brilliant to have both Danny and Davpaz on my team, would play again!

The curry was indeed fantastic and I think one of my favourite meals yet (sorry Rich).

Jacket needs to stay away from me or I have the potential to become a raving alcoholic in his presence.

We got home to an almighty stink, Joans had forgotten to put the kitchen bin out on the Friday morning. :spew:

I walked into the utility and wondered why it smelled like beer, then realised I should probably chuck the tea-towels on a boil wash... :D

Already looking forward to next year, will pop up some photos when I take them off my camera. :) :luv:
