The trick with wine is to look for bottles that have been reduced to the magical £4-£6 mark from the heady heights of £9-£12. Also look for gold or silver bits on the labels.

Except if you do this in the supermarkets it's usually a con. You're best off signing up to someone like Naked Angels where they actually invest in independent wine makers.

Naked isn’t angelic. Luigi (who you’ve met) bought some wine from a “Sienese vineyard” as he was curious, because he knows all the vineyards in Siena, and none of them grow the alleged grape.

Two weeks later, he was in Kiev and a bottle of wine priced at less than £1 equivalent carrying the exact same label apart from one difference (Montenegro, not Siena) was in the supermarket.

I was briefly a member of Naked Wines years ago, absolute dogshit IMO (sorry about the wine aficionado jargon here). Basically a hipster honey trap.

We've got a great little independent wine merchant here but he's expensive. As much as I'll be laughed at for saying this, you can't go too far wrong with Coop silver label wines, they do a fantastic Chablis for a tenner whose equivalent costs £25 at posh outlets.

Even Waitrose do some relative bargains at the upper end; their Primitivo Di Manduria is wonderfully unoaked, unpretentious, bursting with fruit and just about the best Autumn red I can think of (great with fennel salami, oh my word yes... try it, you will thank me), and its less than a tenner a bottle. Fecking superb. Just make sure you decant, or at least open 2 hours before drinking, but that goes for any middleweight red.

In my experience, supermarket wine buyers are very fussy and quality control is very high.

@Jem and Gazchap. I'll be bringing my Switch too. Will you be bringing the TV dock and how many controllers do you have? The reason being that I've just received Bomberman and thought it might be fun to get as many people as we can on that.

I've got the 2 Joycons and a pro controller that I'll bring.

Also if anyone has any entertaining rubbish they no longer want, the quiz happily accepts these and will recycle them into High Quality Prizes.

You can add the various 8-bitdo controllers and they work fine with the switch if anyone has some of those ?

You can also add USB C Wii-u controllers (obviously need a hub and a way to attach the controllers)

We should name them like 'Friends' episodes, otherwise they all run into each other.
