I got about ten hours out of it including the side missions etc. Only got about 75% complete too. |

Arr, there's more game there, to which I will return at some point, but I mainly wanted to move on to the phantom pain. Althought the intro to that hasn't exactly done much more than irritate me. |

devilman wrote: 1) The Binding Of Isaac - Rebirth+ Finished all nine bosses with all fourteen characters on hard level. Some of it was utterly maddening, but at least it's done now. Still got 24 of the 339 achievements left to get, but I'm not too concerned about getting those as I've just had to do a three-hour run just to unlock one of them, with the last thirty minutes as a character that can be killed in one hit, which was rather tense. Attachment: isaac.PNG Finally. Still my one completion for the year, but pleased to finally 100% it. Some of the achievements were a bit of a nightmare though, plus beating the new boss with all the characters on hard level took a long time - beating it with Keeper took me over 300 attempts and 99% of those I didn't even reach it. |

Assassins Creed: Syndicate 28. Faraway: Brilliant little 'escape' style puzzle game for iOS/Android that has you working through 18 levels of increasing complexity manipulating strange machines and deciphering codes to reach the exit. The art style is simple but effective (putting me in mind a bit of of stuff like The Talos Principle and The Witness) and the puzzles are logical to a fault. Highly recommended, especially for Russ given his recent proclivity. |

Assassins Creed: Syndicate 28. Faraway 29. Psychonauts: Rhombus of Ruin: as is seemingly typical of most PSVR games this was short (about two hours) and pretty easy in terms of the puzzles but, as is also typical, it's a very compelling and fun experience. It's one of the nicest looking PSVR games I've played I'd say and it's entertaining enough that, submerged in the headset, I didn't notice the passage of time at all until I finished it. It also had probably one of the best setups I've come across in terms of giving an in-universe excuse for why you can't move around or interact directly with the stuff you're looking at which was a nice touch. So, yeah, very highly recommended if you're a Psychonauts fan or you see it on sale or you just don't care about the slightly high price tag. |

Resident Evil HD Remaster (PS4) - completed on Easy with Jill Finally finished this so many years after starting on the GameCube and restarting a couple of times. The fact that they've fixed the tank controls makes it a much enjoyable game. It's possible I'll go back and play as Chris, but this playthrough took 29 hours as it is. |

1) The Binding Of Isaac - Rebirth+ 2) Hell Girls Um, I think I completed it anyway. I unlocked all the not-very-saucy pics after beating a very annoying boss battle, but the ending was utterly anti-climactic - just a few lines about needing a rest and then it returns to the map screen. Ho hum. |

After finishing this I still ain't convinced that's right. I wanted to burst around the arenas pew pew pewing it up but after several failed attempts in several locations I was back behind cover popping up and shooting like a CoD game. I think the main problem is the frequency of large areas where you have to kill a commander. The game indicates that you should do this stealthily and if you don't you just get rushed by waves of baddies until the commander is dead so that's what you do. I'd prefer a finite number of people just bursting in like Doom but that's not how the game is set up. Anyway, it suffers from the same criticisms that I had about the original game but improves on it in one crucial way: It's only 5 hours long (5 hours and 4 minutes playtime to be accurate). The original was good but far too long. This doesn't overstay it's welcome at all so you'll smash through it and have a decent enough blast. I did. I wasn't bored, I wasn't frustrated, I wasn't not enjoying myself. My verdict: this has all the quality of the original but isn't long enough for the tiny foibles to get on your tits. |

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! 31. The Ghost Town 32. Vulture Island: what initially looks like a standard platformer turns out to actually be a puzzle game in disguise, with all the levels available instantly and accessible through a Mario style overworld map right from the start. You then need to guide your three characters through each level picking up items and carrying out quests to unlock aspects of the other levels, with this sort of back and forth gameplay making up the bulk of the game. Some of the puzzles make an odd use of collected items (for instance, I don't think bug spray is generally used to knock down walls) but you're generally given enough info to work out how to progress from talking to NPCs. It looks good, plays well and is definitely one of the more fun mobile games I've played in a while. Which isn't a massive shock given it's made by the same studio that did the brilliant Traps n' Gemstones. 33. Until Dawn: brilliant stuff; I'll post some more chat in the relevant thread. |
