I think I was probably scared of Grotbags when I was young.

When I was five or six, I was taken to a pantomime which had Grotbags in. She terrified me, as I sat gripping the seat in the dress circle. She strode up and down the stage, telling us children how she was going to cancel Christmas and break all our toys. I cannot remember what did it, what the breaking point was, but I was suddenly sobbing hysterically.
At the interval, my friend's parents took me home. I must have ruined my friend's birthday. Sorry, Karen P. But, Grotbags, you were amazing.

Never really a fan although I saw them support Deftones at the Docklands Arena in 2000. Sad to hear he's left six children without a father though.

Sam Shepard. I was wondering why the name didn't ring a bell, so I looked through his acting credits and I've only seem him in 'Killing Them Softly' - a film I can barely remember anything about.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and actor Sam Shepard appeared in The Right Stuff, Black Hawk Down and Steel Magnolias.

Also wrote Paris, Texas which is one of my favourite films, and was in the magnificent Days of Heaven, the only film I can tolerate Richard Gere in. He was a great playwright in the Raymond Carver vein too. I'll miss him.

Hywel Bennett has just died too. He'll always be Croup, from Neverwhere for me. "Croup and Vandemar, the Old Firm, obstacles obliterated, nuisances eradicated, bothersome limbs removed and tutelary dentistry undertaken." But he was also sterling in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

To be honest, until he died, I'd never heard of Glen Campbell either. I guess he quite a big deal though.

Have you heard Rhinestone Cowboy before? I had a backyard wrestling thing on the go once and we had a wrestler called "Bradley Flifer". He was a cowboy and came out to this tune.

Wichita Lineman is one of my favourite songs. Pre-awful 80's tinfoil, old timey country music is acebest. Listen it sometimes playing *cough* American Truck Simulator on those lone desert highways.

Shame to see Brucey go I guess most people my age grew up with him in a way.

Also, one of that rare breed of TV stars from that era who wasn't retrospectively found out to have been a massive paedo, which is nice.

Some unfortunate hand positioning from Brucie was noticeable on an old episode of 'Play your cards right' we watched on the understated television one hungover Sunday at Cottage.

Well the the sad departure of Bruce Forsyth that has added more red ink than has ever been needed before.

Trooper, MaliA, nikachu, TheVision and Kern are now off the blocks with one point apiece, and myself, asfish and MrChris are storming away with two non-perpetrated deaths each.
