Post subject:  Drone Issue

We have a customer request to look into a possible solution for blocking commercial and user’s Drones entering a site. Has anyone deployed a solution which can provide a barrier against Drone flying in secure areas.

I am after a solution which,
• Creates a barrier between a Handheld or other device and a Flying Drone.
• Technology that is available to block radio signals. This should allow blocking a Drone entering a Site .
• The Drone will be able to approach but fall out of the sky once past the barrier because the signal has been blocked.
• Need to be sure that the solution caters for various heights.

Any solution or technology identified would be great.

I suggested that, to blank looks.

Also the goalkeeper system from a ship was pooh poohed too. (google it it is amazing, it shreds missiles under a hail of lead)

When you say a secure site is this site actually categorised airspace such that even aeroplanes may not fly over it? If not then I think they would be on pretty shaky legal ground even where the drone operator was too. You don't own the sky above your property and you have no more right to knock drones out of the sky than you do aeroplanes.

Big signs stating that your list of requirements will happen. Drone operators won't put their baby's in that sort of peril.

Think MoD sites.... :)

Build a mega-done over the site. Then drones can fly about all they want but never get close to the sensitive subject.

Something that deploys an EMP when a drone is detected. It seemed to work on CoD, if I remember right.

And it'll distract the customer from the minor drone issues when it goes off so win/win I reckon!

Isn't blocking radio signals against the law?

Wouldn't an EMP disrupt your own communications too though? You'd need something like a targeted blast of anti-radio wave to stop communications with the drone.

I'd suggest playing Radio 1 funnelled down a long tube of toilet rolls taped together at the drone. The ONLY downsides would be you'd need someone to man the toilet roll tube 24 hours.

There are some systems being trialled around airports. So I guess exceptions to that are made and no doubt the MoD would be able to get something in place but why are they asking their IT supplier when any number of defence contractors are working on these sorts of countermeasures? It seems bizarre.

Just get Zardoz to fly his drone over the sight.

I've seen his videos and the way he flies with reckless abandon for his own safety and the safety of others would mean no one with an expensive drone would dare fly close to him.

CoD taught me that your EMPs only damage the enemy, because reasons.
