Playing Arkham VR without the Move controllers is madness, don't do it.

Definitely agree with this having now completed it with the Move controllers and in a standing position.

The ability to wander around (within a limited area) adds to the immersion but the bit that freaked me out the most was just using the Bat Computer to view the 3d models and then getting right up in their faces. I was half expecting them to open up dialogue with me the sense of reality was that compelling.

Well it's Doom VFR day but "Dave" from DPD isn't bringing it until between four and five. What the actual fuck, "Dave"?

Doom VFR is totally fine at best if you get to play it on PC with a full HTC Vive VR kit. On that platform, the game's satisfying Doom 2016 elements collide with underwhelming VR optimizations and a wimpy runtime of a few hours.

Sadly, the game has also been shoehorned onto PlayStation VR, and the results there are almost impossible to recommend.
Well, dang.

Many reports in steam reviews of gun aimng being janky.

One to pivk up after a few patches, I believe

He doesn't really go on to say why and it certainly doesn't chime with everything else I've read. Anyway, I've only had about an hour on it but it seems great so far.

He extensively discusses why he didn't like the controls, and every review I've read has said the same thing.

He discusses the problems with the Move controllers. But I'm not convinced from reading that that he's even played it with an Aim controller, he just says it'll make you sick, which it doesn't for me. The controls are a bit of a handful to be sure but after playing the training room that you start off in I was pretty much fine with it. Not even tried it since patching it either which is meant to improve some aspects.

I'd recommend watching the Eurogamer video where the guy plays it with an Aim controller for a couple of hours to get a better idea.

Thinking about it, rapid aim with vr must be quite difficult. Is the auto aim obvious? Or is it just difficult as you miss a lot?

Well it's harder than just clicking on faces with a mouse cursor like on a PC FPS but easier than using an analog stick. But the difficulties feel more realistic, when you miss it feels like you just missed, not that you moved a cursor too far with your joystick or whatever.

One thing they missed with Doom VFR, using the Aim controller you can turn the guns right round in your hand, but if you shoot yourself in the face, and it's impossible to not try doing it, nothing happens.

Has anyone tried watching a 3d blu ray on the PSVR?

The Lego Movie is only £3 on 3d bluray at the moment so I thought I would give it a go out of interest. Just wondered if anyone here had already tried it?

I'm not sure I could watch a whole movie like that if I'm honest - the sense of isolation and not knowing what the fuck the dogs are doing for a couple of hours, let alone the comfort angle, makes me wary.

The PS4 Wipeout game is getting full VR support early next year and there's some VR demo thing of The Last Guardian out today:

Eh, seated cockpit experiences tend to be easier than full on first person stuff with free movement so I don't know that it'll be too bad.

I got Wipeout at the weekend in preparation (and in case the price goes up). It's really fun!

I've never got on with any of the Wipeout games past 2097 (which I fucking adored) so as much as I'd like a go on this just to see what it's like I probably won't buy it as I'd never get my money's worth out of it.

DiRT Rally and the Driveclub demo are the only things that have made me feel a little bit squiffy in PSVR, actually.

Yeah Dirt Rally fucked me right up, although I'm fine with it now. I think it's safe to say that this probably shouldn't be the first game that someone new to VR loads up.

The Driveclub demo affected me a little bit at first but that went away quickly, and certainly it was never even close to how I initially felt playing RE7 or Robinson's Journey. Also I've given a load of non-gamers a go on Driveclub and none of them complained of any ill effect so I think it's generally okay.

Squanch Studios (created by Justin Roiland of Rick & Morty fame) and Crows Crows Crows (the studio behind The Stanley Parable) released a VR game called Accounting+ for the Vive last year and they've recently confirmed a PSVR version coming next week:

My mate was round Friday night for his first go on the VR and I stuck him on Dirt Rally first - and he couldn't go back on the VR for over an hour after one race. So very much :this:

Yeah I always try and get people to try the diving thing on VR Worlds first. Apart from Zardoz, I stuck him on GT Sport. He seemed ok though. >:|

RE:accounting

Yeah, got it, finished it in not very much time.

It's... Quite baggy, sort of a get shouted at simulator. If I'd paid for it I'd be disappointed.
