Finally caught me a Jigglypuff. It's my Pokemon equivalent. Behold his mighty power!

I also caught an Electrabuzz, or something, plus some other new stuff. Also got to level 20. Best think today was putting a lure on st the arboretum and ((for once) it brought out a load of good Pokemon, and three little kids (ages somewhere between 5 and 20) were saying my username (wrongly) because the lure was being so awesome.

I dare say a lot of people are rushing to see what everyone else is rushing towards, but still...

Update to the app now available that includes a new 'appraisal' feature, this means that you don't have to use online IV calculators to get an idea if a Pokemon will power up and evolve into a fearsome fighting specimen, although the online calculators will give exact numbers whereas the appraisal is more of a 'banded' sort of text description.

I've been noticing the effect of server-side changes made earlier in the week too, definitely a more interesting variety of Pokemon being caught now.

Level wise I'm over halfway to Level 23 now, I could pop a Lucky Egg and do all possible evolutions and just about hit 23, but I'm waiting until I have enough candies and Pokemon to do 60 evolutions on the bounce, which is about the maximum number you can do in 30 minutes, and will yield 60,000 XP.

Also got a nice Snorlax out of a 10km egg at the end of the last week which has powered up into my first 2000+ CP Pokemon.

Yesterday a friend told me of one of his friends who was mugged at knife point while playing Pokemon Go. The thief even made him disable all the tracking apps/software on his phone.

I can imagine that in dodgy areas this game is a serious health hazard to play, thinking back to bits of Manchester I've lived in years gone by, there's no way I'd wander around with a £600 phone held aloft in front of me trying to catch fucking Pokemon.

It's pretty irrelevant. Everyone has a smartphone in their pockets, if you're a mugger you don't have to look out for the people holding it in their hand.

They could use binoculars or other forms of optical enhancement devices from tactically significant vantage points to identify the highest value Pokemon-playing targets.

It's probably easier to mug someone for something they have in full view rather than in a bag, etc, though.

I've had s look at the appraisal system, and apart from the annoying introductory sentence it plays each time ('hello Eskimimi, I'm available to analyse your ________ if you would like') which is just a pointless click, the analysis doesn't seem up to much. It's almost identical for all Pokemon I've tried (about 30) 'exceeds expectations, certainly a wonder... Yadda yadda) but unless there is s key to decipher that these sentences mean something (power up before evolve, etc) then it's just basically meaningless to me

I need something more explicit, like 'put this one in battles. Give this one done start dust,

There are at least three pretty clear bands, at the low end I've had 'Your Pokemon is not likely to make much headway in battle' (something like that anyway), there's an 'above average' commentary and also an 'exceptional' one - there have been one or two others as well.

If nothing else it lets you filter out the crap ones and mulch them for candy without worrying you're turning a potential star Pokemon into glue.

Um. I just got "Your Pokemon is unlikely to make much headway in battle. Its stats exceed my calculations! It's incredible!"

So that makes little sense.

I'd put that one in the 'maybe' pile then.

Also, most of my Pokemon are tinier than any they have on record. Their records suck.

Easier to mug someone who is lost in concentration in their phone though. If the first time you spot your mugger is when they're standing right in front of you with a knife, you're less likely to make a fuss or a noise, I'd reckon.

My work colleague has just been showing me how he's named his pokemon rude names to get them appraised:

- "I must say, your Huge Penis impresses me."
- "Your Tiny Willy is very small, but also cute."

Etc.

I lost my Animal Crossing DS cart. A child in Ireland has probably found it, loaded it up and been greeted with "Hello Cuntyflaps!"

Snapchat's UI has certainly changed since I last used it.

In the wooden house at the kid's playground in The Village, community minded youths have written the snapchat IDs of those girls that send nudes. Which is heartwarming.

Russell has found an app called Radar Go that seems really good and works well. We've put that in his phone, Oojemon Go on mine, and it seems to work.

Also, look at my phone all charged up!

I'm kinda drifting away from this now. Although from a quick lunchtime walk I bagged a Tentacruel and Pokévoled a Metapod into a Butterfree so I'm still hanging in there.
