No money has changed hands, I'm considering this a goodwill gesture by Nintendo.

Just had a look. They do, but only on the page of the individual Pokemon. You can see the html on the Pokemon list page.

Pokemon intrigue.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016- ... pokemon-go

https://pokevision.com/ <<< Site down at the moment due to massive demand, expected back shortly.

I think I'll be using this, the 'three steps bug' which basically makes it impossible to properly hunt Pokemon at the moment, means a site like this will be just the ticket.

How do you choose what an Eevee evolved into. Seems to be one of 3.

That Pokevision site does seem to work, I got the locations of a few near Pokemon last night (nothing rare was nearby unfortunately), but all the Pokemon the site had identified were indeed exactly where it'd said they'd be.

This may focus up our lunchtime Pokemon hunting somewhat....

As per above, the actual Pokemon tracking in the game is broken at the moment and has been for nearly a week, so you're basically reduced to walking aimlessly around and waiting for your phone to vibrate.

(The problem is called the 'three steps bug'.)

http://kotaku.com/pokemon-gos-three-ste ... 1783854268

And even when it's working properly the game's native tracking is still pretty shit TBH.

Plus even with Pokevision, you still have to physically get to the location where the Pokemon you want is.

As such I'm not going to feel bad about using Pokevision in the interim. Let's say that we locate one we want to go and get at lunch today, 'Oh there's a such and such up at Douglas Head' for example, that's a decent hike up there, so there's still the travelling and exploration element intact, it just removes the uncontrollable randomness from the game which is what it is at the moment.

I think the distance walked thjng is knackered, too. I had two eggs incubating at 0.7km, walked a mile and a half to the park with it on, and it's still 0.7. Actually walked about 3/4 Mike through the park now, too.

I found that if the loading icon is spinning away it won't count anything. Bin the app and reload.

There are no bugs in this game!

Ah, that makes sense. All the poke stops have stopped pokeying here, too. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to do something G productive with the morning instead

£60 phone for Pokemon go.

He does explicitly state it doesn't have the gyro thing in it so you won't be able to catch Pokemon in AR mode, but other than that it delivers the full experience.

As per my last post (and now knowing the game a lot better than I did when the previous posts about this were made) - losing the AR mode is no big deal at all IMO.

Quite a few folks choose to turn AR off anyway, (my boss plays with AR off), because it's a big hit on the battery (camera running all the time) and doesn't actually add anything to the game.

Yes it's quite nice to see the Pokemon in 'the real world' but it's a novelty thing and TBH when out hunting you're just concentrating on getting the fuckers caught and moving onto the next one. Half the time I catch them with the amazing AR screenshot being my finger across the camera lens, or pointing at my mate's crotch, or the pavement, and other such AR wonders.

Given the pricepoint of the phone linked above (£60!), I'd say losing AR isn't an issue.

Why do Pokemon escape from the balls sometimes? And why is that now happening all the time when it never used to? Is it related to their levels or something? Often have to catch things 3-4 times now. Most annoying.

The colour of the circle indicates how easy to hard it should be to catch from green to red, you can chuck a razzberry at it first to make it more amenable, and switch to using a greatball instead of a regular pokeball once you have them.

It's an RNG call behind the scenes, so you can get good runs and bad runs, where easy catches fail multiple times and hard ones go through without a hitch.

Apparently you are supposed to hit it when the target circle reticule is at its smallest.

I think the size of the reticle only affects getting bonus XP for the capture, rather than capture chance. I think.

As you level up pokemon have a greater chance of escaping. Things that make a difference to catching:

Your level, the higher you are, the less likely you are to catch.
The CP of the pokemon.
The throw. Throwing a curve ball will increase the catch chance. Hitting the inner circle will increase the chance, hitting it when it is small will increase the chance even further.
Razz berries increase the catch chance for the next hit.
Higher level balls increase the chance.
Holding your phone in front of you and spinning on the spot as fast as you can before throwing will increase the chance.

I don't think it's true for same-level Pokemon. Capturing a 10CP pokemon is easier if you're level 10 than if you're level 5. But if you're level 10, you'll be finding a lot more 200CP pokemon, which will be much tougher to catch.

So basically, as you level up, you'll face higher level pokemon that have a greater chance of escaping is probably a better way of wording it.

I'm Level 15 and generally speaking I'd say my failure rate is about the same as it was at Level 10 or Level 5.

Obviously you want to use a bit of common sense and employ a razzberry and/or better ball if the catch shows as orange or dark orange, just to cut down on the frustration factor as much as anything else.

Razzberrys seem to always turn my next throw into a whacky curveball, for some reason.

It is backward, and catching 10cp pokemon gets harder and harder as you level up.

There is also a curveball parameter for pokemon, which will force a curveball every so often. Higher pokemon have a higher rating.
If you throw a curveball, it will cancel it out. i.e. it can't curve a curveball

Pokemon Go: Player claims to have caught all UK characters

Odd choice for an opening line - 'Could this mark the beginning of the end for Pokemon Go?'. Er, so because someone has been obsessively playing a game and has 'completed' it, that's a bad sign?

64 unique Pokémons for me so far, most proud of pokévolving Eeevee's into all three varieties.

Most annoyed at missing out on a Seaking this morning (he was a decent 600+ variety too) due to limited balls.

On the cusp of lvl 16 now so getting a few more new ones popping up between waves of rats and pigeons.

I'm level 14. I thought I had something exciting when I caught Meowth earlier, but my brothers have both caught enough to pokevolve them. Boo to them.

Then caught one really easily the next time I played.
