You do just tap like frig on the pokemon until one of you dies, yes?

When the blue power bar fills up you can hold down on the enemy to launch a super-attack.

Apparently you can swipe left and right to dodge as well although I have yet to try this.

Yes I did this with the Goldeens to get enough candies to evolve the best one, I need to sort through the rest of them though as I have millions of Psyducks and Zubats and shit like that. The limiting factor on power-ups seems to be stardust though, not candies.

Some of them have a little blue glow behind them and show as 'XL' with what looks like a higher weight or height than usual, does this make them better candidates for evolution even if they have a lower CP?

These are weird ones...

Why is one gendered? And what even is the other thing?

Oh, attached the same one twice. This was the other pic, with the gender symbol.

I've not really used much stardust, Hearthly. I'm a collector, not a fighter. :DD

Mimi, if you use your stardust to power up and evolve your Pokemon you'll get better ones!

You can use the stardust (and candy) to make the ones you have tougher too. Without evolving them.

TOUGH ZUBAT!

Last four Pokemon captures have ended up with a frozen screen (Only ones I already had, thankfully).

Seems like the servers are taking a right Brexit.

I sometimes get a frozen screen just when I've caught them, but they're still there when I go back in.

That's happened a few times, these last four have left me without the Pokemon and reduced ball count.

Wanted more bag space. Bought Pokecoins with real money to buy bag upgrades with.

I have Pokecoins left over, not sure what to treat myself to yet though. Maybe some incubators for a MASS HATCHING 5km down the line.

No money has changed hands, I'm considering this a goodwill gesture by Nintendo.

Just had a look. They do, but only on the page of the individual Pokemon. You can see the html on the Pokemon list page.

Pokemon intrigue.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016- ... pokemon-go

https://pokevision.com/ <<< Site down at the moment due to massive demand, expected back shortly.

I think I'll be using this, the 'three steps bug' which basically makes it impossible to properly hunt Pokemon at the moment, means a site like this will be just the ticket.

How do you choose what an Eevee evolved into. Seems to be one of 3.

That Pokevision site does seem to work, I got the locations of a few near Pokemon last night (nothing rare was nearby unfortunately), but all the Pokemon the site had identified were indeed exactly where it'd said they'd be.

This may focus up our lunchtime Pokemon hunting somewhat....

As per above, the actual Pokemon tracking in the game is broken at the moment and has been for nearly a week, so you're basically reduced to walking aimlessly around and waiting for your phone to vibrate.

(The problem is called the 'three steps bug'.)

http://kotaku.com/pokemon-gos-three-ste ... 1783854268

And even when it's working properly the game's native tracking is still pretty shit TBH.

Plus even with Pokevision, you still have to physically get to the location where the Pokemon you want is.

As such I'm not going to feel bad about using Pokevision in the interim. Let's say that we locate one we want to go and get at lunch today, 'Oh there's a such and such up at Douglas Head' for example, that's a decent hike up there, so there's still the travelling and exploration element intact, it just removes the uncontrollable randomness from the game which is what it is at the moment.

I think the distance walked thjng is knackered, too. I had two eggs incubating at 0.7km, walked a mile and a half to the park with it on, and it's still 0.7. Actually walked about 3/4 Mike through the park now, too.

The servers are totally on their arses at the moment Mimi, they've launched in Japan and the whole thing's kind of collapsed - expect things randomly going wrong or not working at all.

I found that if the loading icon is spinning away it won't count anything. Bin the app and reload.

There are no bugs in this game!

£60 phone for Pokemon go.

He does explicitly state it doesn't have the gyro thing in it so you won't be able to catch Pokemon in AR mode, but other than that it delivers the full experience.

As per my last post (and now knowing the game a lot better than I did when the previous posts about this were made) - losing the AR mode is no big deal at all IMO.

Quite a few folks choose to turn AR off anyway, (my boss plays with AR off), because it's a big hit on the battery (camera running all the time) and doesn't actually add anything to the game.

Yes it's quite nice to see the Pokemon in 'the real world' but it's a novelty thing and TBH when out hunting you're just concentrating on getting the fuckers caught and moving onto the next one. Half the time I catch them with the amazing AR screenshot being my finger across the camera lens, or pointing at my mate's crotch, or the pavement, and other such AR wonders.

Given the pricepoint of the phone linked above (£60!), I'd say losing AR isn't an issue.
