"Police in Florida have used the incident as an opportunity to issue guidelines for teenagers and parents on safely playing the game."

Maybe use the incident as an opportunity to tell people not to shoot at other people?

I'm only just getting into the swing of things now. First few 'mons that are over 200cp. Eggs incubating nicely. New route to work that maximises PokéStops :D

Gyms seem a long way off yet. What level are you?

What level are you and what sort of Pokemon are you running with?

The gyms round here are pretty hardcore, the attempts I've made to attack them have ended very badly for my Pokemon.

I've found there's tonnes of people sitting in the local park spamming lures on the pokestops there. Was sitting there last night after work and about 3 or 4 other people we knew came past and we laughed about how everyone was playing pokemon. It's quite funny seeing how many people are playing it and it seems like the largest group are older than expected. I do have a pidgeot that's got about 550CP though.

If they made an Ingress-based game on different IP, like Star Wars or Marvel, I think I would probably die of joy. As it is, I'm not really bothered.

The chap who sits opposite me is bemoaning the fact that it's just Ingress with a Pokemon skin. He showed me Ingress, it looks rubbish and doesn't have Pokemon in it.

He's had Ingress for ages so he's very scornful of Pokemon Go, apparently they're using a load of the data from Ingress for it as well, or something, like, all the work that the Ingress community did I think, the suckers.

Pokestops?

Star Wars cantinas! Rebel bases!

I found a wookiee! A jawa! A level 12 Sith Lord!

It'd be amazing.

There's less contextual sense around why they'd just be wandering around waiting to be 'captured' though. Whereas that makes perfect sense for Pokemon.

Had a fairly successful lunchtime hunt with a couple of mates from the office, at one point a guy driving past in a Transit van shouted 'POKEMON!' at us, which I think was intended more as an insult than a factual observation.

At one point we got a very rare one within hunting distance but couldn't dedicate the time to track it down.

Upon my return to the office I went through my Pokemon list and evolved and power-upped everything that I had the candies and stardust for.

Pokemon roster is looking a little healthier now, and I'm halfway to Level 10. I may have a crack at a gym on way down the prom after work.

It's a fun game I think, and as a social game it's great.

Transfer your 'doubles' to get a piece of candy to help upgrade your 'keeper'.

When the blue power bar fills up you can hold down on the enemy to launch a super-attack.

Apparently you can swipe left and right to dodge as well although I have yet to try this.

Yes I did this with the Goldeens to get enough candies to evolve the best one, I need to sort through the rest of them though as I have millions of Psyducks and Zubats and shit like that. The limiting factor on power-ups seems to be stardust though, not candies.

Some of them have a little blue glow behind them and show as 'XL' with what looks like a higher weight or height than usual, does this make them better candidates for evolution even if they have a lower CP?

Oh, attached the same one twice. This was the other pic, with the gender symbol.

I've not really used much stardust, Hearthly. I'm a collector, not a fighter. :DD

You can use the stardust (and candy) to make the ones you have tougher too. Without evolving them.

Last four Pokemon captures have ended up with a frozen screen (Only ones I already had, thankfully).

Seems like the servers are taking a right Brexit.

I sometimes get a frozen screen just when I've caught them, but they're still there when I go back in.

That's happened a few times, these last four have left me without the Pokemon and reduced ball count.

REDUCED BALL COUNT!
