Depends if you see the challenge as being against each other or against the forces (accidental) that would otherwise stop the flow.

Also, to give yourself a chance of winning all you have to do is time it right and not post number 24, you don't need to keep forcing it back to the start. You're not buying yourself a greater chance of posting number 25 by just sabotaging it at any random point.

I think it depends on how you define 'posts that contain text'.

I took it to mean that posting text is not part of the game and allows for game chat, but the numbers in that post will still be part of the game. But I guess Bobby could clarify that if he's around

Or you could say that posts containing text do not reset the counter, so you can carry on from that number if it's in sequence, but not if it's not.
