Not recently. When did Calcutta and Bombay get renamed?

I'm off to Poland next month. I keep on having to remind myself that I'm going to Gdansk, not Danzig.

Not really, I don't follow Indian news frequently enough to work out that places names have changed and happened to notice because Mummy T is being sanctified.

It's probably because I'm just better read. Madras is now Chennai and Bangalore is Bengaluru, if that helps.

If it pleases you to think that way. I just thought they were different cities. Like there was one called Bombay and one called Mumbai but nothing newsworthy ever happened in Bombay anymore.

It's not an unreasonable assumption to make if goings on in the sub continent is of only a passing interest to you. I'd struggle, for example, to name 3 things of note that happened in Norwich in the past few years.

But really, I think Grim... Is right, and centripetal works better.

I don't think that the singer knows what she's singing.

Centriviggle.

Lyrics were by Beth Nielsen Chapman. Maybe she didn't tell Ms. Hill what they meant.

Lots of lyrics are rubbish anyway.

What I want to know why this filthy song wasn't banned by the Beeb.

What can I do to make light
Of this dull dull day
What switch can I pull
To illuminate the way

Show me one direction
I will not question again
For a warm injection
Is all I need to calm the pain

We all need a love
(resurrection, just a little divine intervention)
We all need a love
(resurrection just a little divine intervention)

What seed must I sow
To replenish this barren land
Teach me to harvest,
I want you to grow in my hand

Let's be optimistic,
Let's say that we won't toil in vain
If we pull together
We'll never fall apart again

Urgh. Unsurprised X not bead.

Russell was at a wedding, so I was visiting Russell's grandad with Darwin, and Russell was going to join us later in the night. So we had a good day, playing, visiting the market and enjoying grandad's ace cooking, but when Darwin went to bed grandad noticed the tie and realised he's not had his medicine (medicine means a whiskey). I agreed to a drink to appease him. I said ok to Bacardi. I wanted 1cm, but he's not metric, so I just said half an inch of spirits, but he said it was the last of the bottle so put 3" of spirits in the glass, and apparently Coke but there was so much alcohol that it still looked clear.

Then I said I'd have a gin, but just half an inch. It was a new bottle, but after. Grandad's house measure it was 2" of gin, then again a burger drink, then another. So strong drinks . Then very drunk I kept trying to excurse myself as Russell was now home and he could try and out drink his navy drinking grandad, and I could go to bed, but no o should stay and now my head is going to fall off :(

Maybe they'll get distracted on the way by the National Forest. Seriously, it's bloody fabulous here - and on a rainy weekend, too. Big project to re-forest an area, just the sort of grand thing I didn't think 'we' did any more. Parks everywhere you turn, paths, greenery; completely excellent.

I took a photo of a bull (called Fernando) at the weekend and it clearly shows how the short front legs would place the centre of gravity far enough forward to make it very tricky to proceed at pace downhill.

But they live for 200 years and only need to feed once a month. They will starve you out. Unless it is a plum tree. They are allergic to plums.
