Poorly educated ;)

I jest, of course. You all did pretty well with your questions, it's just the people specifically employed to answer questions did better - shocker.

By comparison to what I imagine Pointless to be like, it's easy street. You are literally just sat in an average sized room, on a cushion, with the camera in front of you and your opponent sitting a few feet to your right in the same position. You have to maintain "eye contact" with the camera though, which kind of adds to the feeling of being interrogated.

I think Pointless is filmed in front of an audience (Eggheads isn't) so that and also having everyone else around you staring you down can't be nice.

I wonder if after the show she turned to her erstwhile friend, shrugged her shoulders and said "well, at least we'll always have Paris."

Ruth's sister bought Olly What If and Thing Explainer by Randall Munroe for his birthday. She gets many brownie points.

Just in case you weren't aware Chris, he still (rarely) updates the site here, which is what the book was based on:

Incredible.

On a somewhat related note, this article on Japan and guns is an interesting read.

Quote:
Japanese police officers rarely use guns and put much greater emphasis on martial arts - all are expected to become a black belt in judo. They spend more time practising kendo (fighting with bamboo swords) than learning how to use firearms.
"The response to violence is never violence, it's always to de-escalate it. Only six shots were fired by Japanese police nationwide [in 2015]," says journalist Anthony Berteaux. "What most Japanese police will do is get huge futons and essentially roll up a person who is being violent or drunk into a little burrito and carry them back to the station to calm them down."

Just feeling a bit down. I'm utterly fed up with work. I've only been back 3 days this year so far and already it's annoying me beyond belief. My boss is alright for the best part, but just seems to have a way with doing things that annoys me. I can't put a finger on why but it's a very "do as I say, not as I do" type situation. Also, the Director is being a right dick.

I shall continue my search for a new job this weekend and see what's out there.

Interviewed for a charity board position, put myself forward to fund raise for a charity festival and applied for a job in Hull.

Seems we are all busy.

Quiet wet Saturday pint in a newly gentrified pub. The bike shop opposite advertises having 'fully trained mechanical staff'. This amuses and intrigues me greatly.

Decided to use up the outstanding leave days by booking a trip to Belfast in March. It was only after booking a youth hostel that I realised I'd be there over St Patrick's Day.

It'll be a remake with different actors. Or like 2Fast2Furious and I will be Paul Walker.

Oh, I have a job interview, too.
