They are talking about emojis on the 'Today' programme. Oh god.

What's the difference between an emoji and an emoticon, then? Is an emoticon just typed characters (such as colon, close bracket)

I think emojis are more colourful, and that kids today prefer to communicate with such pictograms rather than in plain English. Personally, we should go further: I think it's high time Egyptian Hieroglyphics came back.

In what context? I did read that the first set of emojis from 1999 are now in the Museum of Modern Art.

Basically. An emoji is a single character that is represented by Unicode number. A smilie or emoticon uses multiple characters to represent something. There's a good YouTube video by whatisface that explains it. Tom Scott, is it?

Surely that's age discrimination, unless you can say that the existing set is specifically targeted towards youngsters, or designed to exclude older people.

Apparently you can't sum up your aches and pains, or a hip replacement, or being granted triple-locked pensions and other government bungs whilst support for young people is cut daily, using the current range. But I know little, and care less. On the other hand, Mr Blair had the 08:10 slot, which might have made for even more painful listening.

Clearly contrails of some sort. Not seen anything like this before so I emailed my brother who's an aerodynamicist at BAe to see if he could have a guess.

He denied that it was anything to do with his lot and definitely not a top secret spy plane or anything like that but sent this link:

https://www.metabunk.org/sinusoidal-thi ... ity.t4539/

So a pretty rare and not terribly well understood phenomenon.

The Emojis weren't an offshoot of the Autobots.

Yeah, it looked like it was attached to the line and moved using electric motor. The guy seemed to have boots, jeans and a high viz jacket on for protection against the elements and a harness for protection against gravity.

He's probably a high Faith build, wearing a Lightning Clutch Ring and possibly Dragonslayer Armor.

I've just remembered that while Gaz and I were in Vegas I joked about smothering Craster in butter.

I can't remember the context for this, nor do I know why it's just sprung to mind while putting the kids to bed, but I'm proper snuffling in my jumper trying not to disturb them right now. :DD

Jesus wasn't fucking about, was he, when it came to shouting his skills? He really kept that party going. I didn't realise he produced between 120 and 180 gallons of wine, I'd always thought it was a couple of bottles or something.

You get activity points for being active.

For example 7500 steps would give you 3, 10000, would give 5 and 12500 is 10 points.
30 mins of exercise between 5 and 10 depending on what it is.

You can get 40 points a week, and since I had the policy, until resting I have always hit 40 points per week.

You get free cinema tickets and starbucks etc.

They reward you for being active.

I got a £479 Garmin 920xt for £180 through the policy.
