I'm tech supporting arrivals weekend at student halls today. The student helper dude is outrageously flirting with all the cute boys that come for new ID cards. Practically ignoring the girls. Dirty boy :)

Got the new fiver from a cash point. The smaller of the Queen's two faces is pretty creepy at first.

One side says 'I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of five pounds'; the other 'I have nothing to offer except blood, toil, tears, and sweat'. I think I prefer the former, but always nice to have the option.

If you happen to get one from the first batch with a serial number AA01, then they are pretty valuable. I don't think the rest will sell for much more than face value for long.

"I'm sorry I haven't a clue" is being recorded in Wolverhampton in October. I'm going to try to get tickets when they go on sale this morning but I'm not sure I'll get through. I imagine it'll be very popular.

Still, it's worth a go.

Tickets get! Excellent. I've ordered 4 so that'll be the wife and I and my mom and dad. Because of my dads condition, I'm pretty sure he won't be able to walk but I've got a seat on the end of the aisle so hopefully we can get a wheel chair in, drop him off and then perhaps leave it elsewhere. I'd best check that before we go.

Well done. I'm sure they'll have wheelchair access to help your dad get to and from the seat.

Is that if it is filmed at a BBC centre?

I would imagine the BBc would have to hire somewhere else, and that place can charge?

It's because he's actually going to see Blink182 The Musical after reading Myp's MySpace about it and needs a cover story.

I didn't see this... but yes, they do charge for tickets. It's at the local theatre though and only £5 so I don't mind.

I've been to two (*) , once in Oxford when Humph was still running it and once in Chichester with Jack Dee

They are great fun and you get a much longer show (they record extra to just throw out to cut it down for the show) I wish they would release the full recordings !

(*) I also saw the show in Portsmouth but that was their 'tour' so was not one recorded for the radio but it did mean that I heard Jeremy singing *live* and the whole audience got to join in with their kazoos

Dear I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue Mailing List Member
Here are the details of the first and second recordings in the Autumn 2016 series of "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue".
The recordings will take place as follows:
1) Friday 14th October at the Charter Hall, Colchester. This will be a double recording of the show (i.e 2 programmes will be recorded) for broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
Tickets are all priced at £3.50 with an additional £1.50 booking fee. Tickets are obtainable from 10am on Monday 26th September via the box office (located at the Mercury Theatre), by telephone (01206 573948) or online via the venue's website.
For those wishing to purchase tickets in person, please note that the Box Office for the Charter Hall is not at the venue but at the Mercury Theatre, Balkerne Gate, Colchester CO1 1PT. The Box Office opening times are 10am-8pm Monday to Saturday, on the first day of sale (Monday 26th September) they will open at 10am.
2) Sunday 30th October at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton. This will be a double recording of the show (i.e 2 programmes will be recorded) for broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
Tickets are all priced at £5 with a £3 transaction fee. Tickets are obtainable from 11am on Monday 26th September via the box office by telephone (01902 42 92 12) or online via the venue's website.
For those wishing to purchase tickets in person, the address is Grand Theatre, Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1DE. The Box Office opening times are 11am-9pm Monday to Saturday, on the first day of sale (Monday 26th September) they will open at 11am.
The recording starts at 7.30pm and will be finished around 10.30pm. Tickets will be limited to a strict maximum of 4 per applicant - by whatever booking system. Demand for tickets is very great, so you are advised to purchase early to avoid disappointment, and you should allow for queue waiting times for the Box Office, either by phone or in person, to be longer than usual. Please do not try to obtain tickets before they go on sale.
The 66th series will begin transmission on Radio 4 from Monday 14th November at 6.30pm.
Finally, Barry Cryer has asked me to draw your attention to a show he’s doing with three other I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue alumni, John Cleese, Neil Innes and Rory Bremner, in aid of the Bristol Slapstick Festival, which takes place next week at the Colston Hall in Bristol on Thursday 29th September. Here’s a link.
With best wishes,
Jon Naismith

Should we put some flags up around the forum?

Really interesting, thank you. I would quite happily take that colleague outside and draw unspeakable things on her face.

I've always felt quite envious of the Desktop and Networking teams at the places I've worked at. Always seem to have much better team spirit, perhaps because of the us and them dynamic they have to deal with on a day to day basis.

I wonder why some people think it's acceptable to shout things at strangers wearing headphones in the street, just because they think I can't hear them. A few weeks back I was walking past a couple of lads and one shouted 'Geek' at me (it wasn't a lucky guess, I was wearing a t-shirt with this on)

Today a cyclist went past shouting 'FRANKIE!' at me, because I apparently look a bit like Frankie Boyle to some people and he felt the need to tell me I guess.

They were proud of their newly developed reading skills.

It's not because you're wearing headphones. I've had things shouted at me since I was about 12 or 13, anything from 'hippy' to 'slag', people telling you they'd like to **** you, people judging you every which way, they do it to intimidate and prove their dominance. It's easier to pretend you haven't heard if you've got headphones at least. If I'm out alone I put headphones on for this exact reason. I do listen to an audiobook now, but if I turn it off to go around and in/out shops, or if Darwin is awake, or just don't put it on any time I still put the silent headphones on in the hope people will leave me alone and to pretend I haven't heard them if they don't.

I've never really thought about it before, but it's a sad thing to even consider. I bet I am far from the only one who does it.

A lot of the time I wear my headphones, it's not so much to listen to music while I'm out and about, but more to block everything else out. I just need to go back to listening to Metallica instead of Gillian Welch so that I can be sure to drown them out. :)

It reminded me of the time when blokes in a passing car shouted 'Neo!' at me, because I wear all black and have a long black coat. I hadn't seen the Matrix at that point, so the reference was lost on me anyway.
