Weird. So when you select a photo and do a long press on the send arrow it brings up the effects? Or am I doing it wrong?

I just typed a single character (space) to make the microphone turn into the arrow, then did a long press on the arrow.

I'm finding the in-messages apps a bit hit-and-miss. It's found a few of my existing apps, some of which do things, but IMDB and CityMapper just sit their with their icon showing, doing sod all...

Just tried with a photo and it works with that too. Odd!

Why doesn't it work for me? It's not my long press technique (title) as it works fine with the mic icon to send a voice message.

It's taken me all day to get used to the faster response on touching the screen. I nearly turned lag on in accessibility this morning as it was annoying me.

Like the widgets although some of the 3rd party ones need some work, my Harmony remote one keeps telling me to connect to the Hub, that's all it does for now.

Also my online banking app has now done away with the 2 sets of passwords and lets me in via a finger print since IOS10

Edit: Just looked at my Ipad and the weather widget is really annoying. On the phone its a just the same as all the others and you can remove it if you want.

On tablets I see the temperature and an icon that describes the weather (so sun today) then a little further down is some text saying "weather provided by weather.com" I also can't remove this widget.

Does anyone have this running on a iPad 4th gen? I've been reluctant to update it from iOS8 since I saw how much iOS9 slowed and and basically made unusable a friend's iPad 2

Fixed it. Had to turn Reduce Motion off in Acccessibility settings.

I know it's not ios10 that's done it as it happened before, but how do I get rid of tge grey bat of guessed words flashing abouve the keyboard as they are alaays wring and off-putting.

A friend at work updated her phone over the weekend but it seems that iOS10 has bricked it.

She went into a shop this morning (not an Apply shop) and they quoted £600 for a new phone AND she was ready to pay it! Is this really a thing? I know Apple would be well covered in their T&Cs against breaking phones but that's a hell of a lot of money.

Surely there should be a way of fixing it? I've had a look online and it looks like plugging it into iTunes could be a start. I've said I'll take it home and try to fix it first as there's better things to spend £600 on.

iOS 10 seems to have fucked Chrome on my iPad and handily after having a quick look around I seem to be the only person in the entire world who is having this particular problem. Basically every single site I visit Chrome reports as having a security problem to the extent that it won't even let me visit it. Not really tried much yet to try and fix it. I guess uninstalling and then reinstalling Chrome might help.

It's not a daft question. I haven't actually updated anything since going to iOS 10 so I'll do that too.

This iPhone is well and truly fucked. iTunes is showing an error code 56 which is apparently an issue with the hardware possibly caused by updating it?

Worth doing all updates as I had a few apps playing up after IOS 10 that were all fixed by updates.

You know when you're looking at your lock screen and you swipe right to go to your widget view?

Is there any way of having that widget view "stick" when you turn the screen off, so that when you turn the screen back on it's still there instead of needing to be swiped to again?

One thing that I fucking hate about iOS (and it's something that's been there since the start basically, and it annoys me that they still haven't "fixed" it) is that on the default lock screen, you only get a Calendar notification appearing when an event is imminent, whereas I like to be able to see the next two or three things I have in my diary at all times - not just when they're about to happen.

Not without jailbreaking, but you can add it to the notification center for swiping down quickly without unlocking:
You can decide what to show in Settings > Notifications and whether to allow it at all in Settings > TouchID & Passcode
