And two and a bit days in, all we seem to be talkimg about is the violence. Of which, Plisken tweeted this link:

http://www.espnfc.com/european-champion ... bling-sign

That out the way, Christian Bale scored a decent free kick as Wales won a game. I hope Wales do well.

I thought the 'keeper should have done better for Bale's free kick. I mean it was good that he got it up and down, but it was within a meter of the keeper and he should have saved it.

Watching the Germans efficiently take apart an inferior side with little fuss.

No, you were right the first time!

I bloody love the Germans - that was the best game overall so far.

We had to watch the last 20 minutes. I was mostly surprised that:

1) Rooney was still playing
2) Hart was still playing
3) Rooney is only 30
4) the match wasn't stop when that huge exploding bang went off near the 90 minute mark.

I haven't seen any football at all for nearly five years now, and I realise I no longer care about it.

Change that to 'international football' and it's true for me. Obviously the Cherries are great and worth watching.

Yes, you may be right. That said, it's so long since I saw a Spurs match that I wouldn't know any of the team now, so I'd not have quite the same affiliation, I'm sure. I used to love supporting a team that was never quite at the top, just bubbling under... The potential gave so much to support for. I'm glad I managed to pass the Spurs supporting crown to at least one of the twins :D

I didn't say I hadn't seen any news for the last five years :P

And yes, the premier league (probably called something else now) is certainly looking different from when I was last following!

Every one finished below Leicester :p That's how I justify it. No getting around the fact we let those gooners pick our pocket at the last minute though. Furious = was.

Quite liking the tourny so far. Best game so far was Wales, love me an underdog.

Not happy with how we (the English) were somehow blamed for a bunch of psycho Russians attacking us in the stadium. Not quite sure how a few drunken dick heads on the streets being the same as firing flares/flashbangs/fireworks into the English crowd and then attacking them, ripping of their shirts.

It's funny because apparently we've been threatened with disqualification yet the only people who failed that night were the security forces. How did they know that there wasn't a pipe bomb hidden in one of those flares? why are people even allowed any sort of explosive after what's been going on in Paris etc? looks to me like they fucked up and now want to blame every one else.

Any way, that aside yeah, best game I've watched so far was Wales. The England game was good and we were as relentless as Spurs were last season but sadly only one goal. Still the second best game I've watched though. Watched a bit of the German game, but only when they seemed to have slowed down a bit so it got boring.

Italy looked very impressive and strong tonight. And Belgium's "Golden Generation" looks about as effective as England's from a decade or so back.

I've only seen the goals from the earlier games so can't comment too much on those.

He was at Spurs !. We qualified for the CL with him in our squad and haven't since. (Apart from this year, and that's Spurs on an entire new team full of youth)

However, given my comment was rather autistic (extremes) let me rephrase that to -

Any team with Gareth Bale in are dangerous and a threat because of the sky high talent he has. He can win you games you were losing and can score from positions that most players dream of. He can make a shit team look half decent (see also Spurs).

It's kinda like Portugal with Ronaldo compared to Portugal without (who we were actually able to beat for the first time since 1998 recently)

Gareth Bale is not a one-man team. It doesn't even make any sense. He isn't a team! Spurs could be a one-man team overly reliant on him though. ;)

GARETH BALE was offered to Boro. Seriously. The £80m Real Madrid left winger - then a teenage full-back - was chucked in as a makeweight in January 2009 when Spurs made their annual £12m move for Stewart Downing.

Bale had arrived as a highly rated £7m signing from Southampton but Spurs were ready to use him as a sweetener for the England flanker but Downing was relegation battling Boro’s most important player and the bid was knocked back.

Bale at Boro. Amazing.

According to my wife and mother I exaggerate everything though :D

And Bale really wasn't all that until he played for Spurs, changed position and started using his frightening pace to run at defenders. He made his name at Spurs really. I was absolutely gutted when we lost him and little Luka..

There are rumours of a £96m fee and Man U atm. Though why he would join a club that are not even in the CL is a bit of a mystery..

Really hoping Kane can get into this tourny. He's really been rather quiet up until now.

Russia have been given a suspended disqualification from Euro 2016. What does that mean? I assume it's like a suspended sentence, but I don't get those, either.

So it's basically a last chance warning? Is the same true of suspended prison sentences, do you know?

Yeah I guess. It's basically saying "this is what's going to happen if you step out of line again"

So if you have a two-year suspended prison sentence for drug smuggling and you break the terms of the suspension, you'll start serving that sentence.
