My contract has been extended at work for another year until March 2018 which is fantastic.... if I liked the job.

There's new things I'll be doing as part of the extension but still think it's time to look for something else.

At least you've got some breathing room while you look for something else.

I think my tumble dryer has broken as it's making a funny noise and not actually drying the clothes like it should.

The yay comes from the fact that I've just searched for the instructions online and found that because it's a condenser dryer, rather than empty the water tray every time I can actually just feed it into the drain which is next to the washing machine next to it.

So, if I can get it fixed... I'll be saving time by not having to empty it!

I imagine it's an easy fix for someone as it'll probably (hopefully) be just a matter of changing a part in it.

Is it a condenser? If it is try taking the condenser unit out too and running water between the slats as it can get pretty fuzzed up with fluff between those. Let it dry out then pop back in.

If not then I can offer no further help.

*RTFP - Ah it is a condenser*

Thanks for your help guys, I couldn't have done it without you... I've fixed it!

It turns out that a Haribo wrapper had fallen into a fan near the front bottom.

So this is a Yay but Nay, really. I have, and it seems legit, won an Amazon gift card! Quite a chunky one!

It's $100 for Amazon.com, so I'd have to sign up for an account there and pay any extra postage to use it myself.

Have you tried it on .co.uk to see if it works anyway?

There are quite a few websites you can sell them on.

Or... Is it possible to use it to buy a UK gift card from .com?

I did try it on .co.uk, and it doesn't work there. I considered selling it, that'd be the best way of getting wonga for it, but I have a close friend over there anyway, so I'll just pass it on.

I like the sneakiness of 'swapping' it by buying a co.uk gift card, but that doesn't look to be possible.

It doesn't exactly count as a problem, obv. For $20 or so I'd already have sent it off to the US connection, but for this amount, my brain doesn't quite want to do it till I've made sure that's the best option.

You could buy a $100 Steam/PSN/Xbox code and get it shipped to a US friend and get them to email you the code when it arrives.

That's a good idea - I have Steam, at least, and it doesn't destroy and value of the wonga. But! I have wanged it to my US connection. And will now wait for thanks, and perhaps a suggestion (spontaneous, from them) that they spend some of it on me and give me whatever I ask for next time we meet up. Less value for me, but more good feeling engendered.

Because my contract has been extended, so has my holiday allowance. HR have just been over to tell me that I have an extra 2 days holiday to take before the end of March bringing my total to 6 1/2 days.

The nay is that we're really quite busy at the moment and whilst I don't mind dumping my work and running off, my boss might have other ideas.

My son had his Orthotics fitted on Wednesday. In his case these are inserts in his shoes that help correct his gait and balance, he is hyper flexible so has developed bad habits in these areas that will cause long term damage if we don't start addressing it now.

That was a Nay on its own, then I find that BUPA were ok with paying for the analysis but won't pay for any inserts or appointments associated with them, so £50 for that plus £200 for the inserts. To think I used to moan about his shoes that were £50 a pair :)

Yay is we have finally found specialists who do something else other than say "he will grow out of it" this is the 4th guy we have seen in the last 18 months.

Also they are working well, I took him out yesterday and he didn't fall over once, this would usually happen once or twice when I take him to a large park as he runs everywhere and his balance is a bit off due to the way he walks\runs.

Such a good kid with them as well, asking questions on how they will fit in all his shoes and bought into the fact they will help him straight away, not bad for 3.5

I can see why you'd like that. Seeing as you're taller than a lot of folk, were you able to snatch other folks dinner out of the air as it sailed past?

They did the 'get up on the bar and dance when a certain song comes on the jukebox' thing, so I just waited for that and then joined them up there. The added height advantage meant we never paid for a meal. Frisbee tastic.

The western is worth watching. And dinner with all the characters in the posh hotel is worth the cash, too.
