Sorry to hear that Vision. :(
Still, sounds like a lot of positives there; just concentrate obsessively on the stuff they've highlighted over the next 4 weeks, act enthusiastic/think
Enthusiastic and you're home and dry.

Yeah, show them you're not deterred by the outcome of the meeting. Really kiss arse and keep your nose clean until you're in then take the absolute piss.

I agree with the two statements above. I think you just need to come in beaming with positive attitude and just keep your nose clean and be super-professional.

You must have gone really over board with your comments in that email. Note, I am guessing not.

Either that, or someone who's been exposed to too much talking about arses while playing games with Dimrill, Perkies and Zardoz.

Things I did not want to ever know.

In the last 24 hours our shower stopped working (while I was using it) and our washing machine flooded in the utility. Joans has fixed the washing machine and fitted a new shower too (he also cooked dinner!)

Never thought I'd say this, but I need my own Joans.

In fairness, the shower broke 48 hours ago, I was just busy last night.

Also, dinner wasn't until about 10 o' clock.

Well, it turns out it's a nay. My probation has been extended by four weeks. In fairness, they were really nice about it and praised me for loads of stuff. Just some other stuff, including that email, that aren't so great.

They also tried to give me a "good" in their tick boxes for attendance. I argued that I've not had a day off so that should be a "very good".

They changed it... Small victories I suppose?

Today has been shit. :(

Take the positives out of today, they could have terminated your employment, its an easy get out for companies to do this at probation meetings.

They didn't, the message here is that they like you and what you have done to date, but there are one or two things that you can do a bit better or maybe not at all.

I don't know the context of the email you sent, but I would guess if you had sent something like that in 6 months time they wouldn't have been much issue, at this point you are new and they have a platform in the probation process so have raised it.

No need to kiss ass, just listen to the feedback and act on it,

You also have a PS4 on top of a game box. What's the deal with that?

Air flow, I presume. Not that the PS4 needs it. It's not the size and aesthetic of an old VHS player like the 'Bone.

Mine does. Frequently gets significantly louder than the Xbox and has overheated on several occasions. Less boxed in than the one in the picture, too.

It has a weird problem where it acts like the eject button is constantly pressed, unless you sit the whole thing on top of a game box.

That's weird... What's weirder is how you figured out that putting it on a game would fix it.

This is a known thing. There's a tiny screw on the bottom of the console that you can turn very slightly to fix it.

Woke up this morning no power to any sockets in the house, so go into the garage and flick the breaker switch and its flicks back down.

So after a while I track the issue to our big US style fridge which when ever I plug it in tripped everything.

So I start moving all the frozen stuff out and thinking about how I get the small garage fridge into the kitchen.

I have one more try with the Fridge on some other sockets, same result.

This time though back in the garage when I'm flicking breakers back up (All 5 have tripped) I find I can't get the outside sockets to stay on, but everything else including the fridge is fine.

So much better result as they just run a couple of pond pumps and some lights, makes sense that its these, suspect some water in an IP65 box so can check later on.

So pleased its not the Fridge. odd that the power issue changed from 2 areas though.

EDIT...

Found one IP65 box with quite a lot of water in it :( Cleaned that out and dried everything then plugged everything back in (1 pond pump and some lights)

Everything was ok for an hour or so then it tripped, so I removed the pond pump and plugged that into another box and removed everything else again.

Everything ok for 10 minutes, so I guess maybe some water has penetrated the box, so will replace it next week.

Low impact as its just knocked out some pond pumps and a couple of lights

IPx5 means (weak) water jets, like a tap or shower running over it for 3 minutes, so yes and no, it is water ingress, not 'liquids'.

Nah, I'm all good. More bothered about the flowers than the bruises. Thought they were council tax funded but found out afterwards that they're funded by community donations. :'(

What kind of grown man pulls up flowers then hits two women (my friend and I) when confronted? :belm:

The bruises are very pretty, too.

I hope you're ok Jem! Remember, every bruise is a lesson, and each lesson makes us stronger.

My brother spent ages a while back find a bit of waste land, setting up a community scheme and getting some donations of fruit trees, decorative shrubs etc and planting them. A week later some little scrote had wrecked the whole lot. Never underestimate the urge of little shits to destroy anything worthwhile.

I made a statement to the police etc but have said I don't want to press charges for any assault or anything. (Partly because after I let go of him the first time he started gobbing off again and so I ran at him and pinned him down by the throat while screaming "how fucking dare you?" in his face until he cried ... that bit could be classed as me assaulting him.)

Nope, that sounds like perfectly acceptable self defence as you were feeling threatened by someone who had hit you.

Bit of a mixed mood on this one so I'm naying but yaying or yaying but naying too.

After nearly two weeks Mrs JC and I have our housing forms plus all of the required stuff for an application. It's nearly an inch thick FFS. Hopefully at some point today we will be taking the car down to the council centre and submitting our application, praying we get considered for assisted housing/supported housing whatever.

I'm so nervous you couldn't drive a needle up my arse with a sledgehammer.

Sadly for the same nearly two weeks our landlady has refused (ignored us) to put in writing that she is selling the flat so I have had to take screen grabs of mobile phones and print those instead.

I think my brother had it spot on when he said "The cunt wants you there paying the mortgage until it's sold". So we need to be proactive and instead of sitting here waiting for our final doom we need to take a leap. It won't be a leap of faith however because I've been through all of this before and ended up finding my own flat after three months of stress. So I kinda know what's coming, unless some one comes to our rescue and offers us a place adequate for us to live with the support and protection we need.

Wish me luck sorta kinda.
