Given Day 1 is an eastwards ride to Dover, it's odd that the mileage for the day and overall mileage stick at 299 miles. Maybe I'd get employment rights at 299 or something. |

DAY 1 update. Just got on the ferry so not quite done as there are 11 miles to do the other side. However, the hard miles for today are done. Ludicrously I did Croydon to Dover in 6hrs 30m so an average speed over 12mph, and finished in the top third. The final 20 miles were pretty evil though. This on little training in general but particularly in the past four weeks where I didn't ramp up the distance or the sessions. I genuinely thought I'd be picked up by the support vehicle before I set off this morning. Of my limited experience so far I can't recommend this highly enough.
