Not officially (yet), but you can get it on cdkeys for £35ish, which is far too expensive.

Yes , but only occasionally and for generally crazy money :-( (you can buy the code from CDkeys right now for £60 *just* for MWR - they have had is as low as £32)

Not so much. On Bog, for example, sightlines can be cut down but easily addressed by smoke/noob tubes or going another route; on Crash you can have snipers and counter sniping along one long corridor but it's not the main route across; other maps allow for some sniping in some areas but it's generally restrictive in others.

Infinite Warfare, on the other hand, is garbage for sniping pretty much everywhere cause most of the maps are dreadful &/or the TTK is far too sodding low.

It is one of the changes from the Beta , where people would just no-scope you from anywhere.

The Beta did not have HC modes (only regular) and if you played from about the 2nd day most of the teams had snipers who simply pointed their gun in your direction and you died - very frustrating when you'd need to empty a clip into them to take them down.

I had a go on Terminal as a sniper and it went very well. You can get a few kills in a single spot, but in normal mode you have the kill cam, so the enemies quickly work out where you are, and there is ALWAYS an alternative route to get to where you are hiding.

One thing I don't like in IW, despite benefitting from it, is how easy it is to bypass the trip mines and other kill streak equipment via the perks. Seems way easier than previous iterations, and I never get bothered by any of the mines, sentries, or massive flying things (or even UAVs). Not having a trustworthy claymore behind you make it harder to camp a spot, even for a matter of seconds.

It's why I went from trip mines to c4 quite quickly, with sometimes hilarious results. C4 was my permanent unlock.

I agree on the kill streaks. I rarely get killed by big flying things and I've started reducing my reliance on all the 'hide' perks without seeing a downside.

Its basically the same as BLOPS - even down to the same names (Cold blooded / Hardwired / Blind eye) - the only difference is that on BLOPS 1 was a perk 1 and 2 were perk 2 so you could not use all three until you unlocked Perk2 greed

With those on in BLOPS Trip mines / the weird flesh eating mines / tanks / gunships / etc would all ignore you)

A bit of online research, and it's not entirely clear that XP is blocked in private games now. Certainly there are issues with hacked private lobbies being used to boost XP which implies it's possible.

In any event if we go over 6 players again we should try moving to private before going to ground war.

Worth a try at least

A new 'big' patch (downloaded when you turn your system on) and a larger than usual in game patch on it today - the only real things i can see different are :

You have an option for your character voice in the choose a class menus (male or female)
I think they have changed the unlock requirements for the drone package - I'm sure it was level 51 before but its now showing as unlocked for me and i'm only around 30

I also had quite a few of those weird games tonight in HC with a HUD in place so they have not totally ironed out that bug.

** edit ** - yip drone package is now level 4 - cue all the people who burned a perm unlock token on it complaining :

Zombies notes

General Zombies
In Zombies each level gets progressivly harder
Level 1 zombies can be killed with one melee attack
Level 2 zombies can be killed with two melee attacks
etc etc
'normal' (wall buy) guns basically start being more and more useless around level 10 , and by level 20 wont really do anything , you need either special guns (from the mystery box) or pack-a-punched guns.

At the start you should be doing everything you can to get points ,
injuring a zombie is 10 points
A normal kill on a zombie is 50 points
A headshot is 100
A melee kill is 130

So for round one a few bullets into them and a melee attack , round 2 a clip into them and then melee, you should stop melee'ing them at about round 3 unless they are the final zombie or you have an insta-kill

For the start of any game your main tasks are :
1) Get the power on (until the power is on nothing really works - in Spaceland its power in different areas but get them on)
2) Get a reasonable wall gun to use - something that kills zombies and your happy to use up to around level 10
3) Get Jugg (or its equivelent - in IW its 'tuff enuff') it lets you take double the amount of hits before going down.
4) Get Pack-a-punch open and get enough cash to upgrade one gun.

Zombies in Spaceland

The keys you earn in game are usable in both Zombies or Multiplayer
Once you get to the right level you can put attachments on your guns , I'm level 10 and have akimbo pistols and a 'ammo refill' attachment on the first shotgun

At the start the best thing to do is get the head on the robot and start doing the missions , once you have done 5 you can call in Michael Knight to help you (but best to wait for the boss around level 10)

Its best to go to the main hub and go to the left first , so you can get Tuff-enuff unlocked and powered on

You normally have 4 standard rounds and then a round of clowns (equivelent of Dogs from previous Zombies) which will spawn a max ammo

Boss character comes out around level 10 , you need to hit them in the head (so they remove their mask) then hit their head again.

The Mystery box is a mystery wheel and is denoted (same as normal Zombies) by a light from the sky (so you can see where it is) if its somewhere near the start then go hit it for 950 points and see what you can get.

A *lot* of the rides can kill you if your not careful - if you dont know what a ride does dont turn it on

When you die you can play games in the afterlife arcade to return , when you return run back to the start and you can retrieve your weapons from the lost and found desk

Zombies can drop normal power ups (max ammo / nuke / etc) but can also drop :
Sunglasses - these put everything into black and white and let you see some special red targets that you need to do as part of the easter egg
Cash bags (more money)
Ammo clips (an extra clip of ammo for the gun you have when you pick it up)
Medals - 3 different colours , you put them into the machines and get special trap items (and parts for the easter eggs) from them
Tickets - there is a trade counter in the arcade to swap them for stuff or little tables around different parts of the map to pick up other bits.

To open pack a punch you need to go to each of the 4 areas and go through the portals , you can then go through the first portal to the movie projector room and pack a punch using the projector (5000 to upgrade your gun)

If you have not bought it you can play it for free between the 15th and the 20th

If you’ve been itching to try out Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, we’ve got a special gift for you because ‘Tis the Season! Beginning at 10am PST on December 15 through 10am PST December 20, you can download and play the latest Call of Duty experience, with access to all three game modes.

That means you can engage with the storyline in the campaign with “Rising Threat” and “Black Sky,” the first two levels of the game. Plus, you can jump into multiplayer with friends and foes (Level Cap of 15), and try to hold your own against the undead in a zombie infested 1980s amusement park (Level Cap of 3).

About 2:15 onwards - one of the character specials when fired outlines all enemies so you can see them as outlines even through walls

And the stats bit i was talking about at the end - in a game lobby move the cursor to the right over the players and you get their win / loss stats + current streak

I had a go at this. I played through the campaign levels the free trial allows to to have a go at. (The two first levels and the attendant space fight) and they're... Alright. Typical 'whack-a-mole' CoD. Some nice touches, I liked the 'hacking' doobry.

I also had a go at the multiplayer. How can a single game feel slow and ponderous and ridiculous and lightweight at the same time? The guns feel crap, the enhanced movement stuff feels like a bad joke, the maps don't seem to be designed with it in mind at all.

Also, one hit sniper kills and 'imma gonna hide in this corner for the entire match' raised their ugly head even in the brief time I played.

The worst thing? I felt completely powerless for entire stretches of time. I mean, when I died, it was just 'of course, you shot me to death before I shot you to death. That's what happens in this game'. I didn't feel I was contributing at all, that when my team won it was despite me.

I know, I only played a few matches, I need to practice, and get good. It's always a hard slog getting into a multiplayer shooter, of course I was terrible to begin with. But, I don't have any desire to continue.

After finishing off FFXV to clear the palate (very good, btw) I booted up Titanfall 2 again, and felt like a badass marauder again hopping from rooftop to rooftop, blowing fools away with a submachine gun..

Not sure if you played regular or HC , regular just does not work for me , my guns dont do anything and they all get one hit kills on me - however with HC my randomly sprayed bullets means that i will regularly get a single one to connect :-)

Also I tend to play either Domination (so i'm playing to take those points and dont care how many times i die - i *will* take that point) , or KC where a lot of my points is being fast and hoovering up the tags that no-one else has grabbed.

There are some very overpowered guns in the game , however from everything I've seen the best basic gun is the one you start with (the Nv4)

People camping in corners / partially obscured by scenery is in the game a lot , its not uncommon to see people playing HC Dom with *zero* captures at the end of a match - so thats not even bothering to cap the point you start at in either half - there are also still glitches so people can get out of the map / to obscure locations and snipe which is really just basic cheating (Retaliation seems to be the most common for this at the moment with people glitching to get high above the C point or on top of the buildings in the graveyard - both give really long sight lines so they just get up there and kill anyone who wanders around)

The other frustrating point about the game is the hopping people , these mainly seem to be running the Merc rig and the 'move really quickly' perk and basically spend the whole game in the air - their shots hit you and you cant ever seem to hit them.

The game is a million times better if you can party up with others from on here but i cant think of a game that would not benefit from that :-)

Grounded is back

I haven't had grounded turn up in MP once!

I've had it a few times , its not 'common' but does show up - I think i've hit it more in Infected (which I play a few rounds of if i only have a short amount of time) more than in Domination as its quite small.

Double XP all this weekend and something new

Cant remember something about friendly fire .... mumble mumble

Actually - I accidentally shot a friendly in a game and they died not me , and wondered what was going on - i could not bring myself to team kill to see if i got kicked or not - however it looks like they have updated things so that you do not get ricochet kills in a match unless you've had 2 team kills already

Hardcore mode updated to only activate ricochet after 2 friendly kills in Infinite Warfare

In today’s new playlist update for Infinite Warfare, Infinity Ward has changed how Hardcore mode’s Ricochet will activate.

With this update, the ricochet only activates after a player has killed 2 teammates, meaning you have a 2 time grace period before it will start to reflect.

Woo! I should really get around to installing this and trying it out... I only have Modern Warfare Remastered installed just now.
Is the Zombies thing any good?

I like it - it takes a little getting used to for the few changes to Treyarch stuff but its still got a good feel to it

They have made some modifications to the basic Zombies modes so that its easier to play solo (in the final bossfight in solo you get one boss - in multiplayer you get one for each player) and the main area doors in solo are 1000 , in multiplayer they are X000 (where X is the number of players)

You can also pimp your guns (so all the extras you unlock in multiplayer carry over to the zombies mode) - my starting pistol has a sight / extended mags / hollow point (more headshot damage) / and an extended barrel (longer distance)

Perks wise you get the 'equivalent' stuff from old Zombies (so Tuff Enough is Jugg / quickies is speed cola / mule munchies is mule kick) - but have added a few extras (you get a mule icon on your 3rd gun so you know what one it is) - Slappy taffy is now a perk (2000 points) which replaces the bowie knife and is a one hit kill to about round 13 or so :-)

Here is me trying to do bits of the easter egg- upgrading guns and other stuff

DLC is live

New maps are new
New Zombie map is different but still has some things that cross over - however we'll see how it goes - glad slappy taffy is back - it also keeps the 'coin' thing from Spaceland (shove 3 into a totem pole to get a special item)

You either get the new maps at random playing any mode or you can play the DLC only but its non hardcore and a moshpit playlist so its very hit and miss if you get something good or rubbish

Double XP and double weapon XP all this week and i finished up tonight with an impressive match

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
HC dom and started off with only 2 other people on my team who leave before the first point is even taken, sometimes the game will merge in another group of people but this time it did not so its just me - by myself against a whole other team

Despite that i take the lead at the start , keep capturing and defending points and killing them off , hit my mission target (kill one member of the enemy team 6 times) , positive KD and end up with more than double their top players score - yes yes i lost the match but i dont care :-)
