You and JBR can go for a run together!

Come to parkrun! Haven't decided which - the closest, probably - looks like Markeaton is nearby. And I've not done that one (essential criterion).

Thanks for sorting that, Curio. It's good to know we have the second cottage as if means Russell and I feel a bit more able to attend now. As we will definitely have the baby with us I think we will try to get in the smaller of the cottages, away from the greater of the noise, on whichever floor has the fewest bedrooms (hopefully to both lessen disturbance to baby's sleep but also so that there are as few other guests affected as possible in case Darwin does wake up and cry in the night).

Whoop! :DD

Rich! I thought I might fancy a glass of port last night, so into the shopping basket it went. Then, I recalled the conversation we had last cottage, and put it back on the shelf. I got home and opened the cupboard and counted 4 3/4 full bottles. I might have to tip them down the sink so the cycle can restart.

No.

Bank transfer much preferred, as my PayPal is basically lost to the mists of time and their appalling security system.

No, I just don't bother with online access to our bank account - I lost my access keycard thing and Mrs K does it on the odd occasion it's needed (paying for builders or whatever). To be honest I haven't bothered checking what's in our bank account or looking at a bank statement for quite a few years now.

You rich bastard. I've been checking mine every day this week in case I go over my overdraft limit and get charged for it like last month
:(

You already have my bank details so you can delegate the task.

Nom it is best MrsK does it. Then she'll know what the price of freedom is and use that to have leverage over Kissyfur. This will make his existence slightly less comfortable and cause me some amusement.

It's not necessarily appalling security, but if they've decided there's an issue, it's then a long old slog to be able to use it again. It took me 3 months to get them to let me use my paypal account after I tried to send TheVision £2 for the rumble sweepstake and they decided it was gambling (which technically it is, I guess).

I think I stuck a comment in of 'stupid bloody wrestling' or something? Maybe the name of a sport is enough to trigger a flag to review it.

Overzealous is perhaps a better word. It got locked for some reason not known to me, and has since resisted any attempts for me to unlock it.

Yep. Despite me having a verified business account and having jumped through a million hoops already, they decided to request another bunch of identification earlier this year, some of which I didn't have because it didn't apply. Even though they admitted on the phone it didn't apply, they couldn't remove it from the account.

Took a lot of phone calls to put right, during which I lost business. >:(

And the SomethingAwful forums held a donation drive for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and forum members collectively raised something like $30,000 in one day - PayPal froze the account and refused to give money back or anything

Finances looking pretty good now for no extra charge, or at most about five quid or so each, though that doesn't take into account any stuff for the cottage like loo roll or dishwasher stuff or food.

Don't worry all, as it stands I am coming to the cottage so consider me confirmed. I admit, I haven't paid yet but I shall sort that in the next day or two all being well.

Given my 'efforts' to get that game to you, I shall be thoroughly lenient on payment timescales.
