My wife and I both have IPhones and we have one Apple account across both of them for apps.

Both phones are on Vodafone.

Recently if I get or make a phone call then that record shows up in my wife's phone under recent and also when she calls people those calls show up on my phone in the same place

Its only started happening recently and is a pain as my wife keeps thinking she has missed calls etc from people she doesn't know as we have different contacts

Any ideas how you turn this off, can't see anything obvious in the settings?

Instead of using one account for apps it would be better for you to turn in family sharing.

Don't do this. Set up family sharing instead.

And it's "iPhone."

Ange and I had separate Apple IDs except she used mine for the iTunes/App Store. This was before family sharing, mind.

Sharing an Apple ID for everything is going to be problematic, I reckon.

That's one of my pet peeves at work. We have people that insist on typing every variation other than the correct one, sometimes with two or three alternatives in the same email.

i-phone, I Phone, and on one occasion eye-phone.

Which is Iphone. iPhone is the typographic style, but it's not a correct use of a proper noun.

The times are a'changing, though.

[edit]I'm also aware of the fact that this is coming from someone that likes their name to be stylised with an ellipsis at the end ;)

Quite. If I had my way I'd ban everyone with a username that doesn't start with an uppercase letter (sorry mark ;)) but then I'm a cantankerous old goat.

No you don't. To be technically correct, you like your name to be stylised with three full stops.

Ellipsis: …

Incorrect, sir - you can't use an ellipsis in a username here (or hardly anywhere else online), though.

It's a laptop. I think that's in the dictionary as a noun, but amazingly you can't search the OED online without subscribing, so it can fuck off and die in a hole.

Thinking about it there is no reason why we need one account, the only thing I want to share is the OneDrive App so that all our pictures go to one place. That's done by MS account

I'll look at Family sharing then, on my IPhone

Family sharing is good simply as you only have to pay once to share apps that you might both enjoy, but you can each have your own settings on those apps on your eyeFone.

I had a quick look at this on the Apple website last night, no 100% sure it will be the solution.

We have an phone each and then 5 Ipads that all share the same account. The Family sharing appears to be something that works well when every device has a different owner?

Yes, you know when you go to the app store and look at the Updates > Purchased section? You can switch accounts in there and have access to download all of everyone's apps. So one person pays, and then everyone gets access.

Sharing a login across two different devices but still expecting complete separation of user data was never going to work in this day and age.

That reminds me - does the iPad Pro have separate user accounts yet? I imagine that's something that Surface Pro does, and it's a constant annoyance that you can't have multiple accounts on a single iPad and then have a login screen like you would on Windows.

The Surface can, yes. It's just a Windows PC.

Can the iPad Pro drive a monitor?
