Ahhhhh!

Makes sense (kind of, anyway... I'm not sure what the significance is, but if it ever comes up in the Cottage quiz I shall study it!)

Exactly... No, hang on...

Anyway, isn't it great to be back at work after a long Christmas off? I couldn't wait to get in this morning.

Normally the first day back involves a call to IT to rest my password, but this time it only took me two attempts to remember my login.

Me too! Only 2 attempts which is a shame as I was looking forward to sitting on hold for 40 minutes to IT.

And from the other side of the fence, I do so love dealing with people who not only can't remember their passwords from just over a week back, but seem to have forgotten even the most basic of IT skills such as how to turn a computer on, and use a browser.

Happy new year everyone :D

Another reason why it's best to come in between Xmas and New Year. Not such a dreadful reality crash then!

I'm already thinking what to do with my extra week off!

In previous years I've done this but I had a lovely time off with my family and chances are, I won't be here next Christmas so I thought I'd best take advantage.

Can you remember when you were confused about the alarm time and made me rush for the theatre workshop st 2am because I had to jump out of bed and run to the station! I didn't even realise it was pitch black outside. D'oh. I felt a bit sheepish when she phoned back and asked why I said I was already on my whee

Mimi has asked me to translate because she is too tired and emotional (drunk) to type.

Grim... Your dream sounds a bit like what happened to Mimi, except imagine if you'd actually gone to the cottage before realising it was a dream.

Once Mimi had an appointment to catch a train with a friend to go to a theatre workshop. The friend rang up saying Oh Noes I Hav Oversleep. Are You Nearly There? Mimi replied Yes I Am Nearly At The Station and rushed out the door.

The friend then rang back saying I Must Hav Dreemed I Slept Through My Alarm. It Is Only 2:30am. What Is Wrong With You Why Did You Say You Were Nearly There?

And then Mimi was embarrassed and returned to bed.

Baby has learned to both smoosh his face into my breast whilst blowing raspberries, whilst also pushing boob up to smoosh me in my own face, whilst also kicking off the sofa arm to plank his entire body length, which is currently in the region of 7ft. I'm in the bath now, and I don't feel like I'm wrestling a giant octopus for the first time all day.

When in reality, the only place you might possibly expect to wrestle an octopus at home is in the bath.

I once cycled to work, only to find I was two hours early as I'd misread the time on my alarm clock and thought the alarm had failed. Had to wait an hour for the caretaker to arrive to open up. I should have realised there was something wrong as I got near to Manchester city centre and there was virtually no traffic.

Speaking of trains, I've booked myself a weekend getaway to Edinburgh for my birthday in February. Taking the sleeper late on the Friday, then the afternoon train home on the Monday.

I've taken the Highland one a couple of times (1998; 2014) and slept really well (a few drinks in the lounge car probably helped). I'll reserve judgement on the Friday night lowland one until I've tried it, but likely to be more comfortable than a seat and far less faff than flying.

I'd love to sleep on the train. Not in a seat, one of those old fashion trains with your own room.

You certainly get your own room on the sleeper. Unfortunately it's made of paper so you can hear the children in the room either side at full volume all night, and someone appears to have welded tin cans to the tracks for the length of the journey

When you're lying in the berth just focus on the click-click-click as the train rumbles on and enjoy the strange rolling sensation as if you're at sea. You'll drop off in no time.

I think Rick is a no. 1 bike.
