That is indeed what a lot of the Newcastle fans who were targeted did - they hate Ashley so would quite happily take his goods just to give them away, not wear them.

It seems that the website can't count.

Unfortunately the items listed below are no longer in stock. As a result we have had to cancel these items and cancel the payment authority on your card. You will not be charged for any of these items.

Not really bothered about it.

Turns out he was a bit of a dodgy fuck about it (either this was obvious or it wasn't) and what they've done is awarded them lottery style rather than first come first served. And now you're on the mailing list.

No worries, you can come and clean my windshield :D

I did get an initial order confirmation with a huge disclaimer underneath covering them if they did not have any in stock. Sadly I can't get to my emails right now because Talktalk is being shit.

It was the second email that cancelled the order.

Ed, here it is.

This confirmation of receipt of order is subject to stock availability and does not constitute a binding contract. This email does not constitute or represent confirmation of the purchase.
This will be issued when your order has been processed by our warehouse team.

Must be down to area, because loads of people who ordered after me are getting theirs. Still, as I said, not bothered.

Definitely the former for me. They're basically a UK sweatshop.

In the interests of balance though, they are far from being the only UK retailer with conditions like this. From what I've read, the Amazon UK warehouse has it beaten hands-down for that kind of thing.

Oh I don't doubt it. I try hard not to use Amazon anymore for a variety of reasons.

Tbh I try to use independent shops as much as I can. They may treat their staff badly but not on an industrial scale. ;)

The latest installation of Singham leaves a bit to be desired:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Fed up policeman went on illegal stall-flipping rampage
There's a new cop in town. And he means business.

An angry Pakistani police officer fed up of having to deal with illegal stalls set up around Karachi, went on a rampage as he raided sellers. Baton in hand, the officer flipped tables and threw merchandise at merchants who had set up shop without a permit in the city's Saddar bazaar district.

Hmm, question me do.

Last year I got sick of buying cheap headphones and decided that given I mostly wear them all day every day that I was going to do it right. So I bought some BeyerDynamic Custom One Pro as they are apparently very good for beat driven/bass.

I also bought an amp/DAC at the same time. Sadly from day one the headphones were faulty. Firstly when I put them on they popped loudly (not the drivers the frame of the headphones) on the left side. Not only that but the left driver was screwy. The right side was fine but as soon as I added anything that you could consider bass to my music the left earphone farted and flapped.

I really didn't want to return them at the time because I did not want to have to go without. So I just used the Media Player EQ and turned the bass right down.

A few days back I decided that I was sick of listening to 'thin' music and decided to send them back. I went to return the headphones but it said that the deadline had passed in September last year (eh?!). So I contacted customer service who said they would generate a return (and they have) and order me a new pair (and they have). I went to a Collect+ store yesterday and dropped off the faulty headphones but all I am getting on my order is the following message.

Not yet dispatched
Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.

It's been like that for three days.

Has any one else had this before? usually they send the replacement out immediately :S

I went up to a colleague yesterday that until now I'd only emailed and made reference to an email I'd sent him.

He said "Oh, YOU'RE Russell... I thought you worked down in the London office or something."

We don't have a London office.

She works part time (3 days a week) but for most of those days, we sit in the same office and interact regularly.

She's asked me to do something. I'm not going to do it now. That'll teach her.

That would annoy me. Mind you, I always get the names of the customer service people confused.

One of the women I shared an office with for a couple of years used to make herself busy by doing a lot of the organisational stuff around the office (seating plans, rotas, office party, team days, yadda yadda), without fail she'd put my surname down as 'Rogers'. Every. Time.

Every. Single. Time.

I bought an everyday wedding ring from eBay at the weekend. I measured my finger's circumference with a bit of string and ordered one with the same internal circumference. It arrived yesterday and it is miles too big. Which is odd.

I had the same problem with the engagement ring that I bought for Jem. We measured her finger in the same way and when we put it on, it was something ludicrous like 5 sizes too big.
