... A printer.

Any ideas on where I would go to have a file printed (single sheet of A3 colour print). I have a printer, but it's A4, and it's a 12x12 family tree for little man's baby book. I used to print everything like this out at work, but I'm not there now, and Russell's department aren't important enough for colour.

I remember years ago shops that would print things. I think you could print in Staples, too. Where do you go for such services now?

The world has changed and I wasn't paying attention.

Do Staples still do printing, then? I had a look on their (mobile) site and couldn't see anything about it. I haven't been to a Staples since I lived in London (I once bought Staples in Staples at Staples Corner, fact fans) but I think I last went into a branch 15+ years ago. I'm sure I have seen one between here and Birmingham. I shall check that out. Thanks Davpaz.

I get my colour pictures for trial bundles and stuff at Staples. Surprisingly expensive for colour copies, like 50p for a sheet or something like that.

It's only a single sheet so even if it is a few pounds I am not too worried, I just simply couldn't find anywhere on the site that said that it still did a print service. I've just gone to the main desktop site and it does say they offer services in Staples, but there is no indication of price or minimum quantities or anything.

Still, if I know that I will be able to pop don and get it printed I will put the file together: I didn't want to go about trying to make a complicated family tree to never be able to print the thing out :p

Do it at work.

I'm not at work for a while and there's no colour print facility in Russell's department.

You could send the file to me if there's no rush, Meems.

I'll whiz it through when the boss isn't looking :)

Aw, thanks chicken. If I get really stuck then I might take you up on that. but I have checked and there is a Staples near-ish by, and we are bound to go that way in the next few weeks as I get more mobile again, so it will be a god excuse to go out.

I haven't actually made the file yet: but I wanted to make sure that somewhere existed to print it if I did go to the trouble of making one for him :D

I used to print out all of my stuff at work, too. I started and worked an early day, so it was quite handy :P

I'll happily print it off for you if you need me too. I'll use the colour printer at work which seems alright quality wise... Also, it'll be free so there is that.

I fear the travel costs may be prohibitive, but I would get to meet the King of Prussia as a bonus. Decisions...

Thanks also, TheVision! I'm going to see if we go past Staples in the next couple of weeks or I'll manufacture a reason to try. If I'm still stuck I'll take someone up on their kind offer, thank you.

Library service here is the worst I've known in any part of the country, Malc. I've always enjoyed and loved being part of the library system, but after a few visits it's just horrible. They have no books, I doubt they have anything like a printer.

They've spent all of the money that could have bought books on these 'piss off and serve yourself' machines, so four staff can sit around discussing the wedding of one of her nieces, and how the new husband has a drinking problem. If you are stupid enough to try to ask them for assistance they do not respond to you in spoken words, they just extend a fat finger of their sweaty hand towards 'the machine' and raise their eyebrows in a 'why the f are you bothering me when you have THE EFFING MACHINE?!' Expression.

Not that there's any instructions and nor did it do what I was after. It's an awful library. Also, many niles away.
