So who's going? Tickets are cheap. About, say, a tenner or something so the price of a beer on London then.

Plus, there's news coming out of the games on show (I think the link above is the link to the games announced, maybe. I ain't checking. Click it yourself you lazy shits) and all this:

1) The Division: first time playable anywhere is here. It's that Ubisoft shooter game. The one that everyone reckoned looked ace but apparently the graphics are being downgraded from what's been seen before. It's got elements of that shit Ubisoft game about hacking that was just the worse. I can't even remember the name. Anyway, that's here.

2) New Rainbow 6: I played Rainbow 6 on the original Xbox. I hated it.

3) New Assassin Creed: AHAHAHAHAHAH. Like anyone gives a shit. Cept the armies of nut cases who keep buying each painfully tedious instalment. "This time with boats" "OHMYGODIMUSTSPUNKMYCASHONTHISNOWAND DIVEINNTOSOMEHAYFORTHEFIFTHYHUNDREDSTHTIME". If that's you I hate you.

4) Just Cause 3: Actually this looks amazing and I'm looking forward to rubbing my clamidiya hands all over the controller.

5) A shit ton of indie games. Apparently indies are getting a big showing this year. Should be fun.

6) The usual load of retro games played on original hardware. Should also be fun.

7) Probably Nintendo with have an area with a load of cushions and beanbags and 3DS to play.

8) Overpriced food and drink.

9) Bezzies. Some BeeX people might be there. Will it be you? Hmmmm?

Me, I'll be there! I haven't bothered looking at what's actually at the show and will probably just play it by ear once I'm there. I'm hoping for some Occulus action as I've still yet to experience that whole thing properly.

It's worth noting that the venue is right beside both a main Birmingham train station and the airport so getting to/from the place is a piece of piss. I'm just flying down and back on the Saturday so really no one has any excuse not to come.

Are you sure? I can't see anything to contradict the most recent info that the first access to the beta would be via the Xbone in December.

I reckon Dark Souls 3 will be playable here.

Yes, if that ain't a reason to come, although admittedly wild speculation but based on the fact that playable demo booths have been at the last two big shows, then I don't know what is.

I wish I was going because as well as the other exciting stuff there's also a board game area, but I'm banned from spending money until we move house :(

The tickets are only £17. What's £17 for a day of awesomeness?

It's the travel that would be pricey I think...have you booked a flight yet? I'd probably go with Jen too so the cost would be doubled.

I was sort of hoping you'd forget about that and just be dazzled by the cheap ticket price until it was too late! ;) I've already booked my flights, I just checked and it's about £90 return on FlyBe from Glasgow.

:DD That does sound possible to be fair! £90 return could maybe be stretched to for one of us but I think Jen would want to come as well.

Erm... turns out I'm there Thursday and Friday. Sorry, my mate (who brought the tickets) corrected me the other week. Thursday is probably the best day to go, thinking about it, as it'll be the least busy.

Check out the prices for the early access where you get in an hour before the queue. I can't remember how much more it is but it might be a few quid. That extra hour was very useful to get on what you wanted to play last time I went.

Video of the in game footage looked daft.

If you've purchased your ticket for this you should by now, or shortly hereafter, receive your codes for FREE GAME.

This is that free game. I'm going to say meh before it's even finished downloading.

I've got two extra Free Steam Unlockable Virtua Key Thing if anyone wants to play this thing. Just send me a PM with a picture of some tatties and the first two will get the FSUVKT.

Questions:

Is there any Occulus stuff confirmed to be there?
Why is that list of games there swimming in stuff that's already out? Who wants to go to a gaming show to see MGS5, Destiny or Everybody's Gone to the Rapture when you could just buy them? Even more bizarrely Nintendo are showing off Mario Kart 8, a game that's been out for over a year!

Ive just had that same discussion with the bloke I'm going with. Ninty are just showing their face to sell their merch, if you ask me.

I couldn't see any Occulus stuff on the site but PlayStation VR will be there. Should be interesting and they should, hopefully, have more than one fucking helmet like Occulus have done for the last two years...

I'm there tomorrow... I did wonder how 'exclusive' the early access passes were if they were being offered to everyone.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to standing in a queue all day long.
