I've seen the article so won't spoil it for people, but their choices weren't bad at all.

I remember *needing* an Amiga from the first time I saw an A1000 but didn't get mine till the A500 dropped to £399 in October 89.

Same. Well, my dad bought one. I was 7.

Holy shit, someone has actually uploaded a video of Alien Pong Trilogy 2 to YouTube. I've had to apologise in the comments section.

What's the music that starts at 3:37 from? I recognise the shit out of it.

Can't remember - have downloaded the archive from Aminet and inspected the mod file, no clues.

Damnit!

I think maybe it's reminding me a bit of the theme tune to The Bill.

Only clue I've found is that the header of the protracker mod has "frac1" in the top of it.

I can only assume that you were trying to give people seizures with the first (palette scrolling?) screen.

My poor eyes.

Metro is actually quite good for gaming just steer clear of the clickbait guest article rubbish and concentrate on the reviews and letters.

I've read the list and sadly there's no Frontier on the list or Octamed either. What they have isn't bad though.

God only knows what I was intending to do. Certainly not "make a good game", anyway.

Nice enough article here -

Even namechecks :attitude:

I experienced the machine almost vicariously, through the brilliant magazines of the era, most importantly the anarchic Amiga Power, where irreverent writers like Stuart Campbell and Jonathan Davies helped create a new kind of games journalism.

Turrican 2
Rodland

And as for the emulator recommendations, FS-UAE is much much better than WinUAE.

I obtained a ['remote online backup' - Ed.]of 'Hunter' and loaded it into the emulator.

Blimey, I'd forgotten how depressingly bleak that game is.

I had to send my Amiga 500 back to my folks house for my final term at University, there was no way I was going to pass my finals if I had kept it in the flat.

I love that noise. It makes me happy. Anyway, the top ten list.

Here's the link to take a look yourselves. Zaphod named a few and there are a few more obvious ones on there but Warhead? I've never played that.

I bet Warhead has.

I can see why you might think that, but no, I didn't. I had an ST, not an Amiga. It's still up in the loft. I should get it down an challenge the kids to a Buggy Boy marathon.

Just kidding, but the old 'my Amiga is better than your ST,' argument will long be remembered.

Tsk. The Amiga was objectively better than the ST, especially after the 1200 came out. Shouldn't matter to the ST owners though.

The CD32 is ace and mine is now a permanent fixture under my TV. I've been playing Deluxe Galaga on it a fair bit recently. It's good fun and the pad isn't as bad as everyone makes out.

I've never gotten up to the missile before. I didn't even know there was a missile until I saw a video of it online.
