ROCK METAL MUSIC MAKES ME SAY YES, I WILL PLAY THIS.

There hasn't ever been a good Transformers game EXCEPT that PS2 one (that was brilliant. Cor, weren't the graphics good for their time IIRC). It was probably called Transformers too which makes it difficult to remember precisely.

Graphics look nice don't they?

Hey, y'know what makes me interested enough in this to make a new thread? Transformers are Japanese: Platinum Games are Japanese. Something says in the back of my mind that this connection will make a game more like the original source material than any of the utter dogshit that has tarred my memories of the early cartoons and 'that' cartoon movie.

Anyway, Platinum Games don't make duffers so let's get HYPE TRAINED. Choo-choo.

Looks like it could be just a beat-em-up? Fuck that, then.

Does indeed look like it could be an arena based beat em up. Full marks for looks though.

It looks great, and METAL!!! works well as a sound track. Not sure I'd be that fussed with just a beat em up though

Platinum Games don't do 'just beat em ups'. Is Bayonetta just a beat em up? Or MGSR? Nah, we're in good hands here. I've got a good feeling about this.

The first image on the link could be from the original cartoon. Nice.

Here's a link to a website that has the official first trailer.

http://www.vg247.com/2015/07/09/transfo ... comic-con/

Here's a list of what happened when I viewed it:

1) TRANSFORMERS SOUNDEFFECT!
2) MEGATRONS VOICE! SQUEEEEEE!
3) ORIGINAL SHOCKWAVE LOOKS FUCKING SQUEEEE!
4) OPTIMIUS PRIMES VOICE SQUEEEEEEEE!
5) SQUEEEEEEEEEE!

If 8 year old me could look into his future and see this he'd probably have an aneurysm.

Wow, that's incredibly faithful to the original comics and cartoon, the voices even sound the way I remember. None of which means the game will be any good of course.

Platinum's only duffer was Korra, which was another licensed game published by Activision.

This could go either way.

If it's bad, it'll probably be because it was made on a tiny budget.

Well that seems somewhat relevant to my interests. Already the rights look fifty times better than anything in any of the Bay movies so it's onto a winner.

If Starscream is a boss and says "How it pains me to do this" before he does a special move that chucks you off something then I'll be as happy as a happy man being happy about something happy.

Every time I imagined my perfect transformers game in the eighties, it was a north & south clone. But I'll take this. It looks wonderful.

That would have been very sweet indeed. Loved playing my brother on that. The tension of a lone cavalryman charging towards a lone cannon, flailing and firing desperately, was like nothing else.

Oh yeah, and Blitzwing using his trademark 'Jet to Tank' entrance!

It's a bit odd they've said it's single player only though...

Because of all those multi player games Platinum have done in the past?

Prior to Korra, Anarchy Reigns was their weakest game. I only really want single player games from Platinum.

I just think the lack of multiplayer is odd considering it seems to be an arena based brawler.

It kinda was though.

Every battle locked you into a mostly flat arena until you killed all the enemies.

Exactly. Essentially all these brawler style games from Devil May Cry to God of War are in a succession of arenas.

Vanquish wasn't, at least not so much as Bayonetta.

Neither was Mad World, really.

That said, this game looks closer to Bayonetta than their other games.

Ok, do me a favour and just close your eyes.

No, hang on, click on this video THEN close your eyes.

Listen. Listen to the voices. Listen to Grimlock say "Me Grimlock." Listen to the glorious voices.

Done that? Ok. Now watch it again and just take in the images. Where are you? You are a child again. You are watching Wackaday. Nothing can hurt you. Your mind is filled with transforming robots. As you watch, your hands are holding toys again. One in each of your beautiful child hands. Plastic robots. The robots on TV. You also have a tiny ineffectual penis. But also robots.

God bless you all. You and your robots friends.

And your tiny penises.

I've been avoiding this thread until now because Michael Bay has basically ruined Transformers for me. Then I accidentally clicked on it.

The only review appears to be from The Metro.

8/10
http://metro.co.uk/2015/10/06/transform ... e-5423610/

It's apparently Bayonetta but not quite as good BUT WITH TRANSFORMERS FROM THE CARTOON.

That's me sold then. I'm getting it tomorrow.

If only there was some kind of massive and easily searched repository of information that you could look up to find out this kind of thing before leaving the house. What a world that would be.

This is out today! Probably! Who knows anymore. Maybe it will never come out. Maybe it's all an elaborate scam to get us to go use the town centres across the nation. Maybe we're all just bags of fluid floating through the air like plastic bags in the wind. Yeah, deep, man. Deep. Deeply dippy. About the dum, de, dum, something something, off to the something we go, deeply dippy, dum de... and so on.
