As a general observation: there seems to be a lot of grumpiness around at the moment. Not just here either. Is this a seasonal thing? It seems to happen every now and again but I never pay attention to when.

Probably astrology.

It's because everyone is missing their kids now they are back to school.

HAHAHAHA!

it might be something to do with the end of summer, or maybe if you are feeling out of sorts you are just more attuned to the same from others? I haven't noticed it any more or less than usual myself, but have ALL THE HUGS and look forward to the cottage in just over a month xxxx

Now I have a grump (I don't really, because I'm eating ice cream with chocolate sauce. You should try that, too)

About one a month, someone loses their unattended dog from their (covered by cctv) garden in Bradford area. This gets reported in the paper as "to be used as bait in dogfighting ring" and accompanied by grainy stills. Generally, the dogs turn up not too far from where they were lost looking a little hungry. Must be a shit dogfighting ring.

When I moved a few years ago I went to an area with permits, and they refused to let me unload some cardboard into the recycling at the local tip, to the point of saying that he would actually use force to stop me!

They insisted that I should have been given a permit by the previous owner, but when I explained that it was a new build house so there was no such person they didn't seem to understand that this was an issue.

Since then I've got a permit and have never needed to use it at any of the numerous visits I've made.

Every single time here. All checked at the gate. It is a major hassle as the last permit (about the size of a tax disc) was lost so I needed to order a copy of my council tax bill and find something else with my name and address on to prove I was who I am to get another one. If you turn up in a rented transit you need another permit as it is a commercial vehicle as transporting a 3 seat sofa in a Ka is possible.

This has now been escalated into a FOI request and been passed on to the head of environment. I asked what the goals of the scheme were, what metrics were to be measured to evaluate this, money saved, foreseen consequences and some other stuff.

I just tried to put a bra on upside down. Twice.

Then I gave up and threw it in the wash basket, because it is too much hassle.

If only we were both upside down then maybe I would have worked it out.

I got back from the doctors the other day and realised that my leggings* were inside out.

*Yes, I am older than 19 and wore leggings, but I am 40 weeks pregnant and they were under a dress.
Despite being under the dress, as I had to lift my dress up above my head, for belly access, this was probably noticed (but thankfully not commented upon, because my midwife seems to at least care).

BIG mistake. You'll now find that your bins don't get emptied, or just disappear, or filled with dead cats, or just spilled all over your drive or sunnink. However bad it is, don't dis the cleansing dept.

I usually change all my clothes when I get home and everything gets washed after one wear, so I'm terrible for the environment.

In other news: bloody cocking conveyancing solicitors. We are waiting on nothing at all from the sellers or our buyers, yet things still haven't moved on from Friday and the failure to exchange contracts for no particular reason, and no response or contact from our solly explaining why. The receptionist at their office sounds exactly like Bubbles from AbFab, which was an interesting discovery this afternoon.
