84,000ish, then.

Is that like my "several" == 7 in my head?

(Because they begin with the same four letters, obviously).

Scumbags.

Also: hnnnngh.

Its an increasing problem. SAR accounts (and others) require accountants to be registered auditors, but the increasingly low numbers of statutory audits means that a lot of small accountants have dropped their audit registration as the potential income doesn't cover the cost (and associated risk). Even when I was doing audit SARs were a pain in the tits.

We can do them, but we'll be too expensive (Canary Wharf innit) and I can't do mates rates on audit. Where are you based, I may have some contacts?

Just outside someplace, Leicestershire, if you know anyone who might assist.

No idea why the dimensions of this bin are best understood by positioning it next to a drawn naked eunuch,

85cm is about 34". Looking at the scale of that drawing, he must have about an extra 6" of inner seam measurement, barefoot, to go. So he must have an inseam of about 40"+, which is massively tall.

Goodness, maybe the fact that it appears to have 55 guests. Huh.

(52 of those are probably spiders, of course)

It turns out we're getting somewhat hammered by an IP that originates from this server host: https://www.linkedin.com/company/b2-net-solutions

We may be under a really, really crappy DDOS attack. Or it may be like that time the Google robot went insane and started trying to cache the entire site once every second.

Lulz. It looks like they're a hosting company, so who they are doesn't tell us a lot.

Hmm, my missus checked her junk mail box last night and she'd received over 30 spoofed emails from LinkedIn yesterday evening. Not saying there's a connection or anything, just an observation.

[edit] just checked mine and apart from the usual suspects I got one from thefirefaerie spamming me a link to a site telling me I could be earning $8k Pcm or something. No wonder she can afford to keep Cras' in the champagne and cheese he's accustomed to...

I think Grim... was just using the linkedin site to point to the company, b2netsolutions (or ServerMania) rather than suggesting it was a linkedin host.

While I was on holiday last week, I noticed that someone in a Tesco Express had accidentally saved some scanned copies of employee paperwork in the "Photos to be used for a screensaver" directory on one of their PCs, so this and others were on display for everyone queueing.

I've just let their customer services team know, and they are quite rightly horrified. Had I been more evil I could have sent it to the information commissioner's office, or a national newspaper.

Superb.

This morning the WHSmith Magazines "contact us" web page sent anything submitted on it to their entire contacts database, which is pretty good going.

Another Tesco cock up!

Yesterday our shopping was delivered but it was a couple of minutes late. Turns out the van had broken down so the freezer wasn't working properly. The delivery driver apologized and promptly refunded half of the goods in our shopping!

They're all still fine and only as defrosted as they would have been if we'd actually visited the store.

They wouldn't be able to guarantee the van temperature of the chilled delivery, which is a health and safety issue. It will be very much part of the trading law standards that they acted in the way they did. Buying from the store, you are in charge of ensuring that the food stays within safe temperature bounds on the way home, if Tesco can't assure this with the van print outs then they can't sell it.

We have the same with many deliveries to stores: there has to be a constant temperature read to prove that the food was kept within bounds at all times.

That's pretty much what the van driver said, except you made more sense. He wittered on about Tesco making millions in profits so they could afford it. He also left us the receipt of his next delivery too. That lady spent £125 on her shopping.

They're still making a metric fuckton of trading profits. Its just a fuckton less than they werr and that requires them to make a fuckton of non trading write downs in the short term. "badly" is relative.
