Some of those American personal injury adverts are just amazing. Ludicrous, and damaging to the reputation of lawyers (well, over here if it got to those levels, the states seemingly haven't given a toss about reputation all damage to the profession for quite some time), but still awesome. There's some guy who did a Super Bowl advert that goes on for two minutes and involves the lawyer smashing a gravestone with a burning sledgehammer to the tune of some delightful rock music.

EDIT: ("Casinos Way" - I think the video is called. It's crackers)

Nah, I can see threads started by people on my ignore list. He did it because he's a tit.

I can't. It depends on your forum theme.

Is there a way of finding out if you have any foes listed? I don't think I do but genuinely cannot remember so am not sure if I have any posts I can't see.

I love that ad. The burning sledgehammer is genius. Unfortunately his follow-up ad was too knowing and much less inspired.

Do you think he just found his way to your bathroom through your door or window, or do you think he came up through the piping like in so many horror stories?

Soil pipe, I'd guess. We see plenty in the garden, but I don't think we've ever had them anywhere in the house before.

And before you ask, I didn't flush it, I managed to catch it and carry it down to the back garden.

Fuck sake. I've just started playing the Duck Tales remake on my phone and, although there are inter-level save points, it just chucks your progress when you restart the game so basically if you don't complete a full level each time you play it then you're wasting your time. That's a cardinal sin in mobile game design and pretty much renders it useless to me.

R4's You and Yours requested twitter pitches for novels that would be presented to a literary agent on today's show.

Needless to say, there are no serious pitches...but they are funny:

I've just booked in for a vasectomy. The lady on the phone took the booking like I was booking in to get my hair cut.

I'm not sure what to think of it all... I'm booked in for Wednesday the 12th.

It was about buying comics so I was able to give quite a few answers, though nothing I said was at all unusual.

Except that you (presumably) buy comics, which would be what set it off, I suspect.

Sounds about right. Most of my Google surveys are one question along the lines of "have you ever been to a polo match?". I answer no, end of survey, 12p.

I totally went to a polo match the other month! Sucks that I missed that one.

I recently had "Do you own an all-electric sports car?"

Comic buyers aren't the most common of people. Basically, that makes you what's known in the trade as "low incidence", and the lower the incidence, the more people will pay for your information. Scarcity == cash.

Other things have bearings on the money too - Airline pilots, for instance, are low incidence and earn lots of money, so surveys for them are around £30 each just to get them interested. Those are ten-minute, 200 response surveys though, so it's a bit more understandable.

Surely paying more for more info like this is just encouraging people to lie? Certainly if I ever get asked about a polo match or some shit I'm now going to absolutely claim to be a polo aficionado just to get more sweet survey cash.

I just finished the penultimate episode of season 1 of The Walking Dead game last night so with only one episode, plus the DLC, left to do my over-riding takeaway is:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Goddammit, Doug Kenny is such an obnoxious fucking asshole. He's an aggressive, moaning, self-centred, cowardly cunt and the only reason I've kept the relationship with him sweet is because he's really the only original character left and I might need him. At almost every turn I've gone along with his plans and often been the one solving our problems to make sure we survive only to get, at best, slight temporary reductions in bullshit hostility from him. So the one time I need him to help me look for Clem and all I get is him casting up the few occasions I remained on the fence rather than backing his bullshit to the hilt. Not only that but he hysterically over-exaggerated it as if I'd somehow massively betrayed him multiple times in the past when really that's nothing like what happened. Given that I'm soon to be dead anyway it was satisfying as hell to chew him out in front of everyone else and I'm actually glad he fucked off in the huff. Hopefully I'll get a chance later on to make sure he gets fucking eaten by a zombie, the prick. It's a compliment to Teltalle's writing that I've managed to build up such resentment for a fictional character, though I think they have often over-egged his behaviour the point where it seemed unlikely he'd actually be such a dick if he was a real person.

Is there no bullshitter algorithm going on? So say if someone happens to be an airline pilot who reads comics and recently attended a polo match they're quite probably full of shit.

App for Android - if you take an occasional survey they credit your account with a few pennies (normally 12p or so) - which you can spend for Android stuff.
