I'm in there at the moment, making steady progress with my Pyro / Faith character.

I'm forcing myself to try Faith* as I've always neglected it in the previous Souls games.

I got through the tricky bit last night, and had a go at the "lots of monks" boss fight. It took a while to twig onto how to hurt the boss so I died the first time and then it was 3am so I figured I'd better go to bed.

You're a bit ahead of me then. Last night I got to the "Demon Lady who can reset all your stats" chapel / Bonfire.

Er, I assumed you're ahead as I haven't seen the gaggle of monks boss...

The place I'm at is after the pale magic maggot men?

I don't want to spoil if I'm ahead!

Hmm, no - we seem to have gone different directions.

I was in the Cathedral of Despair or something, and there was a bit where you had to run around a balcony while a giant tried to punch you off it.

I went across then up.

I'd killed one giant and tentatively threw fire at the second but he wasn't for moving yet.

Then made swift progress in Farron Keep with the help of a Jolly Co-operator.

I also got to the Farron Keep boss last night (after spending a while failing to beat up the monster on top of the enormous bridge), but only had one go because it was late. I was doing okay until his mate showed up behind me.

I thought Farron Keep was going to be another [insert poison place from DS1] but it turned out to be super-easy compared to the cathedral.

Where did you get a lightning spear?

It's the Lightning Spear miracle, rather than a hand held weapon.

It's up on top of the busted bridge where the monster you didn't kill is :)

Oh, I got that and ignored it, then.

I also got onto the roof of Firelink shrine by jumping off a tree!

The lightning spear miracle was always the one I was jealous of in previous Souls games, the main reason I've gone for loads of Faith in this one.

Out tonight but should be on Saturday, Sunday, Monday...

There's a password system for helping out with co-op play. I'll have a look into it.

I fully plan to run through it again with a Dex build and WHIP WHIP WHIP. Especially now I know there's a notched whip!

After a quick read about Bezzie Co-op it appears that if we should encounter problems we should get naked.

Well done!

I've no idea how many hours I've sank into my game... not too sure of my level either (it's taking 26k souls at the moment to level up though).

I'd have played more DREEM TEEM last night but family drama meant I had no lounge.

If you pause and hit status it tells you how much time you've spent on it.

Mine was realistically more like 45 hours as I did have a habit of leaving my dude at a bonfire while I did other stuff.

No worries mate, I'll just send an invite if you're about.

Had a jaunt in Fireland last night and got very close to turning off the triple twat bow before getting mashed on little health. Is there anything up there that's worth going back for?

Got a cracking new CHAOS MEGA FIREBALL last night. Knocks big chunks off them AND leaves them in a pool of LAVA taking more hits.

Need to grind up another 5 levels before I can use my MEGA LIGHNTING OF RIGHTEOUS FURY miracle. Better be worth it.

I can Praise the Sun properly now.

Only 2 Sunlight Medals short of the second tier prize when I got to the altar.
