We bought a Nespresso machine in December, I resisted for years as the thought of paying 30p a capsule didn't really sit well!

But after years of buying cafetiere's that either leaked, got ground coffee in my drink or got broken during washing up I gave in and bought one.

Just bought a basic machine that you stick the capsule in and I use a heated cup of milk. Cost around £100

Pretty happy with it, I tend to only use it a weekends and have maybe 2-4 coffees, good choice from Nespresso, including decaf which my wife has drunk since she was pregnant.

Just ordered 100 capsules and they had an offer for buy 90 get 10 free, cost me £32 with delivery and should last me 4 months or so.

Some of the patents that Nespresso had have expired and you can now get generic capsules, they aren't that much cheaper though.

I have a quite early model Tassimo which leaks a bit but every morning I use my Monin syrup and make a gingerbread latte in my thermal cup and sprinkle some cinnamon spice on the top and then drink that on the way into work. It makes for a much more pleasurable journey in.

It works out probably 80p for that but I would pay >£3 for the same thing from Starbucks/Costa and I don't have to leave my house or deviate my journey to get one so I am more than happy enough with that.

Also the Cafe Crema is a fine brew to partake in on a Sunday morning.

We got a Tassimo machine when we got married. Hadn't really considered one before then but we used it loads. More expensive than just a cup of ground or instant coffee, sure, but yes, so much cheaper than having one out.

Not used it quite so much since I started fainting as my low blood pressure coupled with stress just seemed to make caffeine a bad idea, but I have the occasional Oreo drink, and Russell liked the Caramel Latte as a treat :)

Caffeine raises your blood pressure, doesn't it?

Yes, the problem was that I have low blood pressure but wS getting high period of stress/anxiety at work which was sending BP through roof and causing panic attacks which made me pass out.

The last day I was at work I thought I was having a heart attack. I knew some of the symptoms, such as those in Z's thread, and they all matched (the panic of which didn't help).

My BP jumps from floor to ceiling, and I black out. It's getting much better now, though.

Still, caffeine is a no for the time being as I am just trying all I can to help keep it steady and manageable.

Also, caffeine free diet coke is much, much better than it used to be. It used to be all weird and frothy rather than fizzy, but it's good now.

I always use a coffee press and either Illy or Lavazza ground coffee. Recently upgraded from a glass press to a brushed steel one from IKEA.

And more recently,Lyons fresh coffee bags. Plonk in a mug and brew like you're making a tea.

They sound good. I was given one once that you suspend like a hammock over a mug and pour water through and them leave to steep for five mins or so before removing the grounds hammock. Made a lovely fresh coffee.

When I can be bothered with the whole ritual I use a coffee grinder and a stove top espresso pot, but most of the time I just use instant granules out of a jar, there's some pretty nice ones these days.

Mocha pot at home, as finely ground as possible and compressed to ensure maximum pressure build up.
Aeropress at work.

I just love how Nespresso got so successful. Now i don't need to drink buckets of washed out coffee when i go abroad.

I do have Nespresso at work and a Nestle Dolce Gusto at home. I love both, but the Nestle machines look lovely, like some toy robots from the 80s.

I'm classy. I pour the granules directly from the jar into the mug until it looks 'about right', then add boiling water. If I'm not recoiling from the bitterness, it's not strong enough.

yeah, I really like it, the coffee is as strong as you like, but has more of an espresso flavour to it than a cafetiere. It is a little more faff than a cafetiere, but the cleaning is easier and it is smaller. I use it everyday.

I haven't had a comedy hipster coffee in ages. I miss them.

The best one was the one with maple syrup, jam and biscuit. It was like a delicious coffee doughnut.

I saw Curio have one once with a mandarin wedge and condensed milk. So I made an espresso martini with Chase Mandarin Vodka and a splash of condensed milk. It was lovely.

On Sunday afternoon, I phoned the 24/7 Nespresso Club customer service line. After five years of use, the non-stick in our milk frother cup thing had broken down, to the point where every time you use it you have to tediously scrub out milk residue. It was long out of warranty, of course. They still offered to sell me a replacement flask for £25 (a new unit is £80 on Amazon.) I said yes. They offered me free standard shipping or upgrade to express; I went for standard. It came on Monday.

Hard to beat that for customer service.

I bought an AeroPress the other day. Initial impressions are that it's awesome, although I've been following the instructions so far which only seems to yield espresso-sized results, rather than full mugs.

I had this the other day.

Deconstruced iced coffee. Iced coffee cubes, espresso in a medicine bottle and sugar syrup in a syringe.

Fucking stupid.
