I was actually wanting him to win right up until until he did and then started making his horrible screeching noises. I have warmed to him slightly, though.

This season is unfair! Mercedes will win every race! It's boring!

You know what sucks? Being up early enough to watch the race, but still not being able to watch

You didn't miss much. The marshals were far more entertaining than the drivers!

Hamilton winning at a canter is as boring as Vettel winning at a canter. Who knew?

Ugh, BBC coverage is dull.

The theme music is by far the best thing about it.

Another boring race, though. There was literally nothing of interest and this was supposedly highlights. It was like they got mixed up and cut all the best bits out instead. Action replays of someone locking up slightly or completely routine passes on the straight where one car is just way faster.

Well I suppose the odd pit lane fire might add some much-needed thing to the spectacle. Here's something I was wondering the other day, I don't watch it to see anyone get hurt but do enjoy the occasional pile up and the sight of these hugely expensive machines getting utterly destroyed. But for whatever reason there's hardly ever even any decent crashes these days, when was the last great first corner pile-up? Is it because someone always has to get blamed and punished that they all tip toe round each other, letting each other pass if the other one looks quicker? I dunno, I've enjoyed watching F1 for as long as I can remember but this season is really not doing anything for me at all. It's just boring as fuck.

Does he take his own team with him everywhere? He had an awful team at McLaren that cost him several races.

I doubt it. I think his problem is that he's a man of faith and he has far too much in his team. He must have enough experience by now to question decisions like that, not just do as he's told like the worlds most expensive border collie!

Maybe - don't forget what happened during qualifying at Silverstone last year, though.

Don't forget that it was the right call at the time - a virtual safety car would have put him out in the lead, but it changed to a normal one after the call was made*. Also, it still would have been okay, but they had to hold him up to avoid a collision for a second or two once the stop was done.

It was certainly a mistake, but it's only an obvious one with hindsight.

* No idea why, though - it seems they're nervous of testing the virtual safety car out, even though it would save a lot of time and hassle.

Silverstone was an exciting old race, even if the result was same old same old.

Fucking Williams shot off the line, though.

I always like that no-one is baseball chooses #42, except for one day a year when every player is #42.

(The film is very good, too).

Jackie Robinson Day, yeah. Although no one can 'choose' 42 as it's been retired.

Yeah, I noticed that after I posted it. I think I got confused because even though it was retired there were still people wearing it (who had always worn it). They've all retired too now, though.

Think Mariano Rivera was the last one (Yankees closer). He retired a couple of years ago.

Better that that spend his last yeard at a second rate team at the back of the grid.
