Donkey Kong Tropical Frozen Bloody Long Subtitle I Can't Remember (WiiU). It's brilliant but, goddamn, is it hard after world 2. Hard, like, seriously hard. I don't think I'm the best games playing guy in the world, hell, I'm more stubbornly persistent than good at games, but this game just milked me dry of lives. Thank god it hands them out like candy but, come'on, I lost 30 lives to the final boss. 30. THIRTY!? I reckon it was just over that as well. At one point I had 66 lives in World 5 and the next thing I know I had 5 lives. Goddamn. Despite all that, and some gnashingly difficult levels, I bloody enjoyed it and I'll go back and mop up some secret worlds I missed on my first play through. Big Dog Tim Westwood shout outs to: 1) The graphics. Bloody lush throughout; just gorgeous. 2) The moosick. Absolutely brilliant, like a Mario game but not actually a Mario game. Quite why they don't let you play World 3-1's music in the music player is CRIMINAL. It's fantastic. 3) DMX. Get at me dog. Woof-woof. Grrrrr. Tickle my belly. 9 out of 10 bananas. Ho-ho*. *Donkey Kong likes bananas doesn't he. |

Sound Shapes (PS4) - completed campaign Fun, but very short and easy rhythm-action platformer. I think the replay value is in the level editor and community, but I can't be bothered with that. |

Anyway, glorious stuff all round and I think I might've even enjoyed it more this second time round. Looks brilliant, plays incredibly smoothly and is a near perfect balance of combat and exploration for my tastes. On the down side, this does leave me even mor honked off that they're delaying the fucking sequel for so long for the PS4. This is a massive dick move and Square Enix can bite my fucking balls over the whole thing quite frankly. |

Not bothering with races, all the assassination contracts, the other two seals, the random treasures and definitely not getting the feathers. Pretty good though. Would like to play another AC game now, but not sure which one would be good. |

Hero where you have to recreate famous goals from the 80s up until today. A bit finicky sometimes as you have to get the plays frame by frame but the pay-to-win mechanics are not as stingy as Hero. I enjoyed it. |

20. Abyss Odyssey - After having to come to terms that the game is more "Smash Bros." and less "Castlevania", it's actually excellent, and looks beautiful. Too bad it doesn't have that much content, apart from being possible to play as every single opponent in the game. |

It looks absolutely stunning in action and the entire papercraft look of the thing is just wonderful. It's a very short game and not massively challenging but the visual design is worth the price of entry alone. |

Future Warrior wrote: If you don't make it to 104 you might as well quit gaming for good. Well I'll finish Temple of Osiris in the next few days and probably squeeze in either Wolfenstein or Shadow of Mordor before Fallout 4, which I might then finish before January. That all would take me up to 90; so I need to finish fourteen Android games in the next three and a bit months to make up the rest. It's not undoable. |

Sometimes You Die: A very odd wee thing. Ostensibly a minimalist platform game but presented as a sort of commentary on games with chat from what I think you're supposed to assume is the developer as you enter each screen. The initial hook is that with each death your 'corpse' stays on screen and can be used as a platform to get over some of the challenges; and indeed on some levels you need to build bridges and staircases of your own bodies. It's rarely even slightly challenging and you can breeze through the entire thing; but it's at the end things get weird. The game introduces a gravity mechanic (turn your phone upside down to reverse gravity) right at the last minute which you can then use to get into another 'secret' set of levels which look different and are much, much harder than the game was up until that point. And even when you get through that you hit a dead end which only implies an ending because if you pause the game at that point the credits appear. However, if you followed the path earlier to what seemed like the ending before the 'secret' levels, the very final room there lets you pick a six digit code which...does nothing. Apparently. And is never explained. So, um, yeah. |

I did actually jack in both Buzz Killem and Space Marshalls in the last couple of weeks as they were annoying me. Buzz Killem I only spent about half an hour on as it was just too repetitive and badly designed. Space Marshalls I spent quite a lot of time on during commuting because there's a really good game in there somewhere but ultimately the flawed implementation of the stealth mechanics were enough to grind me down after a few hours worth of play. ETA: also Mage Gauntlet after a couple of hours because the levels were just basically the same thing over and over with slightly different colours. Which was a shame as it had potential and was genuinely quite funny in place but I just got bored about half way through. |

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris: very disappointed with this. Guardian of Light was one of my favourite games of the last generation and one of the few I've played through twice but this sequel was just inferior in every single way:
I mean I can't say I didn't enjoy it at all, and if this was the first game in the series I might've had a higher opinion of it, but it's just such a step backwards in pretty much every regard from the genuinely brilliant Guardian of Light. To anyone (e.g. Grim) who's only ever played Temple of Osiris please seek out Guardian of Light and give it a shot to see how it should be done because I'd hate for people's opinion of the series to hang only on this massively inferior new one. |

It's the iconic arcade game, but enhanced with widescreen, 3D and 60fps - and two new tunes as well that fit right in. The resolution of the original game fits the 3DS like a glove. The 3D is very deep, but with no annoyances or pop-out effects, and just looks really fantastic in combination with the smooth framerate. The game controls perfectly. This is so well done, it feels like it was always meant for the 3DS, with only the small size of the screen detracting from the experience. |

1) Broken Sword 2 (iOS) 2) Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies (iOS) 3) Machinarium (iOS) 4) SlitherLink (iOS) 5) Conceptis SlitherLink (iOS) 6) Assasin's Creed II (360) 7) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (iOS) - have played I think all of the Phoenix Wright games before as I used to buy the Gyakuten Saiban games from Japan and then switch the language from Japanese to English on the DS so that I could play them ahead of the U.S. releases. Anyway, this was good, but it was the original game. Now to replay it in HD as the trilogy app is free with a £5.99 in app purchase for the first full three games. Bargain! |

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! 81. Tengami 82. Cube Escape: The Mill 83. Cube Escape: Seasons 84. Cube Escape: The Lake 85. Cube Escape: Arles 86. Cube Escape: Harvey's Box 87. Cube Escape: Case 23 88. Mind Snares: Alice's Journey 89. Mystery of Haunted Hollow 90. The Mystery of Blackthorn Castle 91. Sometimes You Die 92. Die For Metal 93. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris 94. Infestor: nice little puzzle platformer for Android which sees you controlling the titular infestor by taking over the bodies of the various humans populating each level and using their specific abilities to get through each level (then amusingly exploding them when they've served their purpose). The difficulty's a bit odd in that 99% of the levels have a challenge that could be best described as 'gentle' and only slightly increases as you go; then the penultimate level is much harder than anything that's come before and I had to look up a walkthrough to know what the hell to do. |

Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (PS4). 39. Xeodrifter (PS Vita). 40. Grow Home (PS4) 41. Teslagrad (PS4). What a shit name for a brilliant game. Metroidvania with fewer "upgrades" as you go along but it has plenty of ideas even if they do all revolve around blue and red lights. Blue attracts red and visa versa; red repels red and blue repels blue and that's about it. There's your puzzles - go finish me you little dick. It has a great hand drawn look about it. The animations are nice. The puzzles aren't too taxing but sometimes they can be fiddly as fuck. Moreover the boss fights, and some areas too unfortunately, are just memory tests and this is where the game is at its absolute worse. Your little character is one-hit killed and so entire sequences have to be repeated in one perfect go. This is easier said than done especially where something will pop out or a boss will do a move that you couldn't possibly anticipate which kills you instantly and you have to go back and do the whole thing again and try and remember what it was that deadid you. Persistence pays off however as the story, characters and art are all fantastic. There is not a single character that make a word other than the odd grunt. This is brill because it allows the background artwork, occasional collectible and intermittent puppet show to advance the story. I approve of this no end. No stupid voice recording on a tape. No rooting around in bins for no reason. No cut scenes. The story is there to be seen and acted out by you as the character. Wordlessly. It's absolute bliss. The campaign is fairly short about 4-5 hours maybe? I lost track of time. But that's a perfect length for it. Once complete you can, if you are so inclined, to seek out the 34 collectible scrolls that tell the full story and leads to the secret ending. I got 16. And you need 15 to get to the final boss. Ah well, I wasn't try that hard then. The main problem with the collectible scrolls is that unlike most Metroid games the map screen doesn't show the location of these things. Most of these types of games show the collectibles when you've seen them on screen or, like Ori & The Blind Forest, shows them up as areas are unlocked usually in tricky places to get that force you to use your abilities to get to them. There's none of this 'ere. They don't show up on the map and whilst you could probably pound your way around the map once you've got the full set of skillz, I couldn't be bothered because that would require essentially going through the entire map for a second time and I'd only just cleared it for the first time. So they can get fucked. It's a shocking oversight really and doesn't encourage continued play without the aid of an internet map or guide which, frankly, is a bit cheap. Had they shown be the ones I'd spotted but forgot about then I'd have gone back to mop them all up just like I did on Ori & The Blind Forest. Anyway, I watched the secret ending on Youtube. It was pretty cool, but some twat thought that when I wanted to watch a secret ending that I couldn't be bothered to do myself that I would be interested in seeing his face in the corner of the screen. Worse than that, the pillock is commenting over the top of the secret ending. "Oh my god. Will he see his mom? That cat is so random." Seriously, is this what a youtuber is? These people who get tons of followers for some unknown reason. God I hate some fads online. Oh, Teslagrad! Play it. Real fucking good. PS+ was awesome this month dontchaknow. |

Who is watching this shit? Full disclosure, I was not watching this, I was trying to find this other dick doing the GTA Mods who I happened to see one day and who made my blood boil and just happened to come across this knob jockey begging for Likes.
