<3.99> on Botanicula for Android.

I've quickly given up on Counterspy which is a real shame. Initial impressions were fantastic and I thought it might turn out to be one of my favourite mobile games ever but the controls and overall design quickly let it down. The touch controls seem great at first but are just janky enough to ensure that you will make mistakes that get you into trouble, and that you'll then struggle to survive when the shit hits the fan. The actual level design is such that you can never see exactly what's ahead of you and in a stealth game that's pretty much unforgivable as you have no choice but to very often blunder into a firefight you'd rather have avoided. The final straw though is that you've got a 'score' that travels with you throughout the game and if that reaches zero at any point then all your progress is essentially wiped and you're kicked back to the first level to start again. This is pretty shite at the best of times to my mind but when you'll consistently lose 'points' from that score due to the design and control issues I mention above the result is a genuine desire to hurl your phone through a window when you inevitably get to what could've been the last level in a set only to have an hour or so's progress kicked back in your face. It's so close to being a brilliant game and yet far enough away to not deserve your time. I'm sure it'll play much better on the PS3/PS4/Vita but I don't know if fixing the controls would be enough to rescue it frankly.

<11.17> on three months of PS+. That's less than Valiant Hearts alone would cost me and I've got the Oddworld remake on my 'to play' list as well so I come out ahead on the deal. And that's even before it means I get a shot of OlliOlli2 and to see whether Counterspy is actually any good on a proper controller.

<17.99> Last of Us Remastered - PS4. Seems like a low price for what most people consider an excellent game. Looking forward to seeing what it's all about. In about 4 days when it's finished downloading.

Another <2.88> on Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Tomb Raider: Legend. Which I realise means I've now rebought the last four Tomb Raider games on the PC for, collectively, a shitload less than a single one of them cost me for the Xbox.

The 3D made my eyes go funny at full strength. I'm not very good at it and I've played too much Outrun 2 and it's taking a while to adjust.

Oh yeah, I'm rubbish at it too but I think it looks lovely.

I have an original 3DS and I think this could be the game to make me upgrade to a new one.

Strange... The total says I've spent £289.86 but I've actually only spent £215.61.

I've added up all my posts and they're right? Something is amiss. I'll put there here to sort it *removed*

I've just checked your maths and you're right, it's not totalling correctly for some reason.

Ah, back in February you posted about buying The Castlevania Adventures and you formatted the price as ".75"; I think it's treating that as £75 and you'll need to put it as "0.75" for it to pick up the decimal correctly.

What's so definitive about that edition? Is there any more campaign or is it just multiplayer hijinks?

I think it has all the DLC baked in and there was certainly at least one DLC single player 'tomb' that I got as a code in my retail 360 copy so you'd get that. Beyond that it seems to be relatively difficult to tell exactly what the difference is between this version and the original. And by 'difficult' I mean that I spend more than two minutes looking at Google results without finding a definitive (ha!) answer.

It's more pixels and shinies isn't it basically? I am tempted though as I really enjoyed it on the 360. Did you play the original FW?

Nope. I bought the PC version in a Steam sale for a fiver and I have the PS3 version on PS+, but I haven't played either. For under a tenner it was worth buying again just for convenience's sake more than anything else.

The retro shop that I visit has just spent upwards of 20 grand on an N64 collection of every single N64 game/console/variant ever.

I'm guessing that I'm going to be buying most of that.
