Working over Christmas is great, you loons. The commute is better, you get to have long lunches and leave early, less people bother you, and you get to play Quake 2 at lunchtime.

Some of those might just be me.

I don't mind it too much either, it's even better if you book some time off in early January when everyone at work is miserable as fuck.

I break up on Christmas Eve, so have christmas day off, and then through to the 29th, but I'm pretty much teh luckiest inmy team as most people are in one or two days in that same span of time.

It's a really nerve-wracking time of year for me. I wish I was bored, but with reduced deliveries and certain product sales that sky-rocket I hve put a LOT of stock outthere and I am therefore now just tryingt o hold my nerve with my calculations. The numbers look scary, so it's kind of do or die. I wish I could relax a little but it is nervy!

The undertaker had a devil of a time getting the writer of the Hokey Cokey into his coffin when he died, apparently.

So people still bother you, they're just less important.

Fuck sake. Ten minutes on the phone with my dad trying to understand a computer problem he was having which resulted in my not even understanding what the fuck he was looking at. Got him to summon my sister to explain that the entire desktop was rotated 90 degress so the old Ctrl + Alt + arrow key sorted it in a few seconds. Awesome. Except that then she casually mentions he's been moaning about some programme called Reg Clean Pro popping up to annoying him so now, in 2014, I have a fucking malware infestation to sort out. I genuinely haven't had to deal with this nonsense since 2005! I even know where it's come from; he watches lots of football matches on shady as fuck sport streaming sites which are an absolute abomination of adverts and pop-ups so I doubt this is the last time I'll be dealing with this nonsense.

Yeah, this is what I'm thinking about. Most of the reason for the computer existing is for my dad to be able to watch illegal football streams so I can't dam that flow (and I don't really want to; it's one of his few pleasures in life, the poor bastard) and the alternative is a way for him to click the wrong thing and not utterly destroy the machine in question. I shall investigate Sandboxie and probably be back with questions.

Sandboxie exists for people who know how to computer, purely so they can limit the damage of their elderly relatives who have no idea how to computer. By gleefully declaring the fact that you 'have Sandboxie' you're voluntarily placing yourself in the latter category. You're being managed. Because you can't be trusted. Probably not something to crow about there. I'm just saying.

As anyone would know, it's a cross pattee. the Iron Cross from 1939 onwards had a swastika on it, the Nazis reintroduced the cross after its use was stopped in the German Army at the end of WW1.
