"Black Sails" is a bit good. Kind of like Game of Thrones with pirates, if one was going to draw a lazy and not particularly accurate comparison.

Yeah, it's not bad at all really, although budget constraints do seem to mean an awful lot of standing around on the island talking compared to the amount of actual pirating.

Great news Troops!

We are up at six to hopefully head over to the house in Stoke for the last time. Need to hand over to the management company today.

I'm a bad person. I laughed when I heard that the building on fire was called The Torch.

Still waiting for Joans, I think he's doing his hair.

At 6 am the child woke up so the wife kicked me and said to bring her in with us. The pair of them fell straight back to sleep and it is like being in a sawmill.

One of mine woke up at around midnight so I went in to see her. Next thing I know, I'm awake on the floor next to her bed and it's morning.

My back is a little sore today.

Yesterday lunchtime, a car hit a mobility scooter and the man on the scooter died. The occupants of the car did a runner. The local paper ran a live report through the afternoon and then, bizarrely , left comments open overnight. Drift through the usual overt racist shit that you usually find there, and someone has put forward a name and address of who they claim is the driver. That cannot be good.

Going with a group of 19th Century British re-enactors for an afternoon's shooting followed by a period dinner (they'll be in their reds for that, but I'm going to wear my US uniform). A friend has been trying to get me to join them for ages and invited me to this event. Not live fired in years.

I had great fun, but am still a pretty lousy shot. Was using a Lee-Enfield .303 dated from 1916 (though probably restored a lot since then). Not fired one before, and I very rarely go prone.

The evening meal was brilliant too. All the re-enactors were in their gear, and I was lent an artilleryman's uniform to wear instead of my yankee getup. Very tempted to join this group as they were all very friendly.

Anyone see Hostages last night? Israeli action series based on, well, you can guess. 8 or 10 episodes, I forget, and you get 2 per Saturday. Good, though not so good that I could think 'wow, this is so good I can ignore the subtitles and just marvel at how different Hebrew is to listen to'.

I love it how when people bring chocolates or cakes into the office, everyone waits until someone opens them. Then the vultures descend...
