That all sounds rubbish and distracting. I'm guessing the ticket prices are vastly more expensive too?

Trooper and I are watching it in "4X", which means the seats move and it rains on you and stuff.

I fully expect that to be something I only try once.

I've never even tried out those motorised seat things that the cinema in Glasgow has because it looks too stupid and distracting.

I tried them in he Hobbit, they were stupid and distracting..

I tried them on that cinema thing at the bottom of the CN tower in 1991. 10 year old me liked it.

Yeah, surely this is a thing to entertain small children to be used with films for small children. Superhero films and suchlike.

Actually, not as much as I thought. About £4 more or something.

People make and rely on very complicated spreadsheets to back up their decisions here at times. There is one I have seen that takes loads of different variables into consideration before spitting out a number.

I look at what something did under similar circumstances and adjust up or down in case of changes and use that.

if the first method was more accurate, it would reflect in the figures over 60 lines. But it doesn't. And requires more work.

I heard someone say yesterday that in a past job they were asked under pressure to give a projected rate of sale of a line under promotion, which in a panic he gave as the first few points of Pi. the business went with this as the forecast.

He didn't say how this went.

He works elsewhere now, though.

(Here... which might not be good)

Sales forecasting is pretty much the same as energy levels in electron shells. Once you nail that, it is pretty basic. Trouble is, few people believe me.

So, you have a page on your website which asks people to register to play a game, and which asks them for their name, e-mail address and postcode.
They then activate their account by clicking a link in an e-mail you send them.
On your website, they then login to their account by simply entering their e-mail address - no password, or other qualifying form of information.
The website then says something along the lines of "Hi <Name>, Welcome back!"

Given that it would be fairly easy to "brute force" logins on a system like this to harvest names, does this constitute a data protection offence?

I'm not sure the mapping of a name to an email address would be enough to be personal data. It's possibly not far off though.
